Landfill site for household waste
HI,
I have a lot of rubbish, things like an old sofa and I am looking to get rid of it. Any Idea where I can dump it in Udon?
I am looking to just fill up the pick up and take it somewhere.
I have given away what I could, old mattresses and bits have been taken by the locals but whats left nobody wants. I have asked the locals where to take it and no one knows. Break it up and but it in the bin bit by bit is the only sensible answer but some things are a bit big and it will take to long.
I don't want to burn it in Udon city and other ideas that are not really useful are in the threads below

If you ask a Thai they will have no clue. They just dump things on the side of the road . There is a landfill just outside Kutchap about 25km from Udon, but not sure you want to drive that far.

Thanks, Willing to drive that far as the crap mountain I have created in the garden is bugging me now.newtovillagelife wrote: ↑July 18, 2018, 6:45 amIf you ask a Thai they will have no clue. They seem to do that or demote it to a corner of their house and then to the garden. Hence the garden is just full of crap I have collected up from around the garden and house.

as in many such cases i would first ask the "phu chai baan".
that is the guy who is responsible for the area where you live.
your thai w/gf or landlord will know him.
good luck.

I was trying to evade the BIB one day along the Ring Road, and somewhere took an evasive left,I think inside the ring road, thru some little shops and then the road became like a B52 had bombed it, and then there was this huge refuge dump..couldnt tell you where it is, but there is one..

Ask the trash collectors.
Re: Landfill site for household waste
That would be the dump east of Nong Sai. Contrary to the Google Map indicators it is NOT a Military Base or a Park, it's a dump. I don't know if you can just drive up and drop stuff off.

I took a car load there 3 months ago wasn't a problem to empty it, staff even helped like!
Re: Landfill site for household waste
We were talking about this very subject at the picnic tables at The tap the other night. Best collective advice from those that have been around the Udon block a bit is head east to Ban Nong Sai and once you done the sharp right, sharp left and pass through the village, roll down your windows and follow the smell.

5 years too late with your reply, KP

Well.
Making a comment in the 5 YO post made me find it:-)
So thanks!!
A dump doesn't walk anywhere, sadly neither does the trash..
Lots of stuff it's normal for the family to put on fire, also lots of stuff simply doesn't burn...
Old microwave for instance...
It will be great to get rid of some of the larger junk.
Thanks for providing the location!

If it can't be done, it never happened..
