Are any of you guys using Tor? I have recently started using it as I don't like the idea of my internet use being closely monitored. Big Brother is watching everything these days even if you aren't into kiddie porn or making bombs. I'm trying to follow the guidelines to keep anonymous. Tor says a computer in Sweden is currently connecting me to Udonmap.
Does this post make the authorities more likely to track me through Tor? I think not. In my book it's time to fight back.

Read about it & download here...

I sometimes use it, when the mood takes me.
It is not especially user friendly to use as your everyday browser. It does not like you using Flash Player (as an example) as it says that Flash collects location information. So that can make it a bit of a bind if you want to watch embedded videos.
To be honest you can get a great deal more privation if you just crank up the private settings on FireFox & use some version of Linux. Microsoft, Apple & Google are all over what you do, so don't expect any privacy using any of their OS's...
If anybody is really concerned about not sharing their personal stuff with all & sundry then using a Linux distribution like
BlackArch or Kali or Security Onion is the way to go.. TOR on Wjndows probably won't offer too much additional privacy.

Wearing my very stylish and post modern tin hat, I have found a use for Tor. Some newspaper websites such as the New York Times limit you to say 10 free articles a month. Tor lets you get around that if the website you are using to connect to the newspaper website hasn't hit the limit.
As a matter of caution I would assume that the internet spooks / coppers can work out what I'm surfing if I'm surfing where I shouldn't go. Like Bob I'd need to study these things more closely before I tried to join Islamic State on Tor or via some other route. Just joking. I don't have a medieval tin hat and neither does Bob - they didn't play cricket nor have the premiership league in the middle ages.

Click on the 3 small horizontal bars at the top right hand side of an open Firefox browser.
A drop down menu will appear.
Select the cog wheel Preferences from the middle of the third row.
A page will open, as below.
Select the Privacy tab
Select the most private settings available - as indicated in the picture.
Additionally, if you want to be at the highest security when visiting a particular site then if you open a new tab & then click the 3 horizontal bars you can select the eye mask, New Private Window from the middle of the first row.
This should stop any sites you visit tracking you..

There is also a Private Tab Add On (which I have never tried) which allows automatic private browsing of the sites you would like that with..
