DID ANY FARANG GET AN IDP with a Thai licence

so it appears it's unlikely I can get an IDP as I will probably only be issued a 2 year temporary license. probably the best thing that ever happened, probably end up saving life by not riding in crazy Medan. Thais drive courteously compared to Medan drivers

If your Thai license is still valid then you can get it replaced, you probably need a police report, just go to any DLT office. Your visa status is irrelevant in that case. However when the license expires you may not get another 5 year license if you don't have a non-o visa, non-b visa or extension of stay from one of those.

In my posts all fees and requirements are the standard R&R but TIT and a brown envelope can make incredible changes YMMV.

yes , it'll be curious whether they give me 2 or 5 years. would think if I've already had 5 years why would they get me to play snakes and ladders?

My licence expires March 2017. so I can get an IDP on this by replacing it I guess. had the police report of loss of licence over 2 years ago.

so it's looking all good for me to get an IDP after all for use in Philippines and Indonesia. anyone know about using an IDP in Cambodia. heard in Vietnam no police harassment against foreigners. plenty of police harassment against foreigners and locals in Vientiane now, force you to pay when there's no infringement. that place has changed for the worse.

No non-O(B)/extension of non-O(B) no 5 year licence on renewal, see the other thread.
