"Coffee Pate" has nice pho noodles, either beek or pork, with the basket of veggies to add to it. See separate thread on the forum for additional detail, though basically located within 150 meters if the Udon immigration office, small one way street perpendicular off Phosri Road behind the Kasikorn Bank. Open from 06h30 to 14h30, closed Sundays.

They do not have Viet coffee though do have the variety of western coffees similar to Bon Cafe etc. about the only place I know where one can order such decent coffees so early in the morning. This is my favorite breakfast place by the way, Kuhn Somboon is a very cheerful owner with regular clients, nice atmosphere.

The owner Somboom speaks English, speak to her for MSG concerns. Coffee Pate also does a nice Bahn Mi or Vietnamese style sandwich, roti's with pork, chicken or tuna and several salads. An English menu is available.

It's located on Tamruat rd. *note: it's a one way street entering from from Phosi rd.

Coffee Pate indeed has good pho......and a lot of other good things to eat.

My pho spot is more of a hole in the wall.....but when we started going there 15 years ago, grandma-from-Vietnam made it the way she learned from her parents ages ago. It's been passed on to the now elderly children who are passing it on to their children. Up the side street with the jail to your right, turn left onto Srichomcheun.....it's on the left about 50 meters after the turn. Brieo, the daughter, speaks excellent English.
Chicken or beef, with plenty of veggies, freshly grilled peppers. Don't go there for ambiance.........it's a noodle soup shop only.....but very delicious!

Best Pho shop in Melb. Dong Ba, Hopkins St Footscray. Try their specialty, "Bun Bo Hue". Really Yum.
