I've been visiting the States for nearly two months now. I've driven up and down the eastern seaboard from Boston to Washington to Charlotte.. Despite constantly looking in my wing mirrors I never caught a motorcycle overtaking me on the road verge or while I was turning.. And, in this 3000 kilometers plus of driving I've yet to lay on my horn to warn a car from crashing into me.. Soon, I'll be back in the land of Smiles and have to turn up my defensive driving a few notches..

Last year after four months of driving here both my wife and I let out a big sigh of relief, Alaska is way laid back for driving both car and motorcycle. Bicycles is a different story, safer here.

I never ride a motorbike but of course have to be aware of them when driving. On a more general note however I find that drivers are less aggressive here than back in UK .Very rarely do you hear a horn sounded in anger and if you see a case of claiming right of way it's more often or not a Farang driver. I must admit when you get a silly r's using the hard shoulder to pass waiting traffic and then squeezing in up further, my attitude still is "You ain't getting in here mate" whereas my wife and most other drivers on the road, meekly let him .I often say to her, if he did that back home there would be a punch up .
Ageing is a privilige denied to many .

Anyway, I'm still looking for grass seed!
Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast, hit 'em with the one they don't expect, and just keep hitting.

I have been searching for grass too, Prefer it without seeds. I have always wanted to try the famous THAI STICK, but have never found it in 10 years of wintering here. Don't know anyone under the age of 55/60 that's tried it.
