Don't See Why Not,Plenty of Laos ride / Drive in Thailand More than likely with thier Laos Driving Licences..

on my last visa run to loss we was going to take my girls bike until we found out what needed to be done.
you need a police check on the bike then you need a passport for the bike from immigration, once all this is done then you need to buy loas bike insurance.
i guess it would ok for many visits but not just for a one off..

A Thai motorbike license is valid in any of the ASEAN countries,including Laos.

Once while living in Laos (2002-2007) the Thai Police went on a short stint of enforcing Lao folks having an International Driver's permit but it faded quickly.. Legally, per an ASEAN agreement (1985) there is full reciprocity for all driving license recognition within ASEAN.. http://www.asean.org/communities/asean- ... -july-1985

Also good in UK, rented an E Class merc from Enterprise rental at Heathrow no problem at all.
