If i buy a scooter with Phuket Registration plates

But my certificate of residence is in Udon Thani will the registration plates need to be changed over to Udon Thani when I have my name and address registered in Green book with change of ownership? Thanks in advance to the experts.

Have just registered a bike in my name which had Bangkok number plates.
You need letter of residence from immigration, copy of passport & copy of one year visa.
The person whose name is on the green book must sign the paperwork to state you have bought it.
You also have to get the bike checked engine number & chassis number.
This is done at the licensing office.

Just notice the green book is already in your name.
Should be no problem you take the bike to licensing office.
They check the engine & chassis number etc.
Still need the proof of residence, copy of passport & visa.
They did not want copy of house book but I would take it just in case.
You pay the fee 480 baht. Then you go back with the bike after about 3 days they will give you new number plate & new tax disc.

Thank you for replies. I am about to buy the bike. The question was does the number plates need to be changed to Udon Thani from Phuket number plates.

Sorry didn't see new number plates part. So they do make you change the plates over. Thanks for the reply I needed.
