Glue Remover
Glue Remover
Any suggestions for removing sticky glue yesterday I bought 2 cheap baking trays I would think the glue glue they used was worth more than the trays.
I have tried boiling water with detergent, WD 40, Mr Muscle, Windex and another kitchen cleaning product and the nonsense is still there.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Glue Remover
Maybe put them in the freezer, so the glue gets hard, then peel it off?
Re: Glue Remover
....I think just about everyone has at one time or another faced this same seemingly impossible task.
I myself go through pretty much the same routine as you have done.
Can only suggest trying what is not listed like metho, kero or turps.
Then again I think wd40 is similar to kero.

If you wife has nail polish remover you might try that.
Re: Glue Remover
In Aus any many other country's they have the products and I think the main ingredient is eucalyptus oil or just it it straight as a remover.
Re: Glue Remover
My wife uses acetone found in beauty supply stores. Here is some info from another thread.

Re: Glue Remover
I have located a glue/label remover that is citrus based and comes in spray can. I've purchased it in the past from downstairs in Big C at Amon and also at Home Pro. I've used it for over 5 years, and it has worked on every substance safely and without damaging the product.

On the subject stain remover. Last time a came back from UK I had a wad of pound notes. When I went to the bank they tossed out bank notes with slightest bit of marks. For some reason some people squibble numbers on them. Why they do that?
I changed the rest, and came back home with the marked ones.
Tried remove the numbers nothing worked.

It has happened to me with US dollars as far back as 5 or 6 years ago. It's just what the banks do. When I sent a Thai national into the bank with the same scribbled notes, the bank exchanged them.choi choi wrote: ↑May 10, 2018, 9:46 amOn the subject stain remover. When all else fails refer to Lazada I have ordered a 3M Pressure Pack that hopefully might work.
As I said I think the glue was worth more than the trays

Re: Glue Remover
Sorry for this late posting but I thought it important to warn anyone choosing to use acetone as a label/glue remover. Acetone will certainly remove the label and glue but it may also remove the finish of the article the label was on. You should not use acetone on any item of furniture or plastic as it could damage the article. play it safe and opt for kerosene instead which will not damage furniture or plastic items. Kerosene is available in most paint stores. Ask for Nam Man Gaas น้ำมันก๊าซ. I think the Thai script is correct.

Re: Glue Remover
I use lighter fluid for that task. It works.
Re: Glue Remover
Lighter fluid and kerosene work equally well and will not damage the item the sticker is on.
