They showed that fewer than half of the province’s Grade 6 pupils – 49 per cent – met the provincial standard in math in the 2017-18 academic year, a one-percentage-point decline from the previous year and a five-percentage-point drop since 2014.

World Education Rankings 2020....Canada 6th....Thailand 47th....I rest my case.
It seems you were unable to analyse the original subtle message correctly. Do you always take matters so seriously, or do things generally pass you by?

When people make false statements, it's annoying. I would agree Education standards are declining in Canada, but they have a ways to go before falling to Thai levels.

OMG .. shock horror all those parents have lost there baby sitting for the long hols ...expect to see the kids tagging a long with mom or dad to work which is fine unless they are airline pilots , construction workers , doctors /nurses ?? or Fred Dibnah.

Just where all these corona related cancellations end.

First day of school today. Traffic not so bad. I think I can handle this new system. I only wish they had started it 20 years ago.

Yes, my daughter did her first online session today for St Mary's. Mind you i had no idea how it was going to work first thing this morning because there had been practically zero information on how it would be done. Any Information on the St Mary's rather limited website was in Thai, and my wife didn't know either. Just had a channel number, which didn't seem to exist. Fortunately have a niece just finishing university and she set it up.

I did find the government online learning videos on a site called DLTV but these are somewhat different.

St Mary's instruction on how to register was on their Facebook page which worked well. Although all in Thai I managed to register our daughter quite quickly onto the schools Google Classroom account. It was the complete lack of explanation as to what format any content was to be in and what we should expect. We sat watching the screen for the first class yesterday for 35 mins, nothing.... turned out daughter had already completed the classwork the day before when it was posted.
Second day today and a lot smoother now we understand what to expect plus we're getting regular emails from teachers as to when new content has been posted. Managed a complete today without a problem....

The UCS online teaching thingmie is equally perplexing. Their instructions too are via FB (thus via Mrs tam) but be careful of indolent youth saying it's not working or it doesn't make sense. They've been sitting around Fortniting and YouTubing for the best part of two months already and may be reluctant to even try.

I think it's ALL a work in progress as I am pretty sure I read that the MOE said testing of the online teaching system would start 18th May so can't imagine it's all smooth and bug free just yet.

I hope the online teaching is a better standard than the bird in the video. It's like watching The Benny Hill show Mrs Chow Mein.

Spot on there Chuchi. Benny Hill's Chinese Immigration/Customs? Officer has me in fits too.

Latching on to Tamada's comments, UCS not actually St.Mary's, sorry, but not impressed so far. I thought there might be a full hour's instruction from the Prathom 3 schedule, but so far there's been a short video, a couple of questions to answer and it's done and dusted in about 10 minutes! It's hardly worth tuning in. Yes, I appreciate it's all new to the teachers too, but I have to be honest too. I did think the teacher would be on camera too, but no. I hope it may become more extensive and meaningful. Oh, lots of photos on the Facebook page of what the children or mums are doing. But think my son will learn more from inputting his own questions on Google, or even talking to dad!
I bang my head against the wall with what I've seen of the DLTV too. Painfully slow.
