I’m not sure wasting a test kit post-mortem would be a sensible move when there’s a huge shortage anyway, I’m not saying that’s what’s happening, it’s just my opinion, if you’re dead you’re dead but if the test kit can save a nurses life.

For weeks, they mocked and berated President Trump for having hope that hydroxychloroquine could be a powerful therapeutic cure for the Chinese Coronavirus.

Now, Trump is getting the last laugh. Not only did more than 6,000 doctors from across the world come out and say that hydroxychloroquine is the "most effective therapy" for Coronavirus, but even the NEW YORK TIMES has caved and is finally reporting on it's positive benefits.

"Malaria Drug Helps Virus Patients Improve, in Small Study," The New York Times reported this week, adding: "A group of moderately ill people were given hydroxychloroquine, which appeared to ease their symptoms quickly, but more research is needed."

Even Democrat Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer did a full reversal on the drug. She went from threatening doctors who prescribed it to asking the federal Government to send some to her state.

Sadly for the media, their credibility is completely shot after they downplayed massively successful trials of this drug. Lives may have very well been lost because of their obsession with always taking the opposite side of anything that President Trump says. They had their chance weeks ago to spread positivity about this cure, yet they decided to mock the treatment and anyone who promoted it.

Thankfully, DC Communications Strategist Drew Holden went back in time and took screenshots from several left-wing publications that initially downplayed the drug.

Top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci left the hosts of Fox & Friends disappointed and frustrated Friday when he threw cold water on their insistence that the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine is a game-changing cure for the coronavirus.

Citing a recent poll showing that 37 percent of doctors around the world feel the drug is currently the most effective treatment of COVID-19, co-host Steve Doocy added that frequent Fox News guest Dr. Mehmet Oz recently touted a small Chinese study that found the drug had some efficacy in treating the virus.

Doocy went on to play a clip of Dr. Oz wondering whether Fauci was impressed with the results of that study. The Fox host asked the top physician to respond to the TV doctor.

“That was not a very robust study,” replied Fauci, a member of the White House coronavirus task force. He also pointed out that while there’s still a possibility of a “beneficial effect,” the scale and strength of the evidence is not “overwhelmingly strong.”

Verdict: Evidence for hydroxychloroquine and similar anti-malarial drugs is mixed and based on loosely controlled studies. Even studies indicating its promise don't show it's a miracle cure. A large study by the WHO should have more reliable results in the coming months.

Has any one else given thought to the total contradiction of those conservatives who are quick to praise Trump (and the still experimental hydroxychloroquine) based on the opinions of a relatively few experts ie doctors, but will not have a bar of those other experts (the 97% of them) who warn us about the impact of global warming.

We are lucky that the Governor posted we had 7 cases as of last Thursday and no new ones for 8 days.

Do any other expats know of similar people checking in their local communities.

I know where I live we had someone come back from Korea but he did isolation at the Govt. approved residence

Unfortunately the tracking website is not accurate so the numbers being reported are also suspect.

I have definite knowledge of at least one case, possibly more than 1 but certainly 1, that is in Udon Thani province and developed symptoms and was confirmed and hospitalised in the last few days.

I have also heard from a relative who has friends working in the Udon hospital, that the number being treated is higher than is being publicly reported.
