Prayuth specifically mentioned that all sorts of supply logistics transport, not only food and medicine, is permitted. This includes overnight road transport. There's no plans to restrict Kerry, DHL, Thai Post, etc., from doing lazada home deliveries. Drivers have travel permits.

It was mentioned in his speech or comment yesterday on the 6,500+ curfew breakers arrested to-date. Reported in Bangkok Post.

How's the world's most important road junction this morning, DM?
Just after 6 am on a Sunday took dogs out and the most Famousist intersection (near the airport) was quiet Tam ... just starting to liven up with loads essential early morning bicycle riders getting some exercise.

A little background on that. Hart island has been used for a long time to bury the unidentified or unclaimed dead and as the numbers have risen significantly that story is not as sensational as it seems to be.

There are many more bodies than normal to be buried and some/many will be COVID-19 victims. Earth moving equipment is commonly used for grave digging.

Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

Post by Barney » April 12, 2020, 12:38 pm

An unusual occurrence just happened at my house.
Sitting down to my sandwich and coffee and my little guard dogs start going berserk. Always a sign someone is either passing or entering the gate.
Put a hold on my Netflix show and check the commotion.
Low and behold a guy is inside my property without asking spraying all over the yard, pathway, front steps, around cars, over at the mother in laws little house.
Missus comes out and eventually gets to talk to him. Don’t mind him doing this but he’s lucky the dogs were contained. He’d have more to worry about than Carona if they were out.
He explains he is doing his job and the only question was how long The Falang had been at the premises.
He wrote the answer in a book and off he went.
Good the village is taking this seriously.

nope, story makes reference to "when the flight ban is lifted." That is on 18 April right now.

The 2nd story seems to be a government entity making a "scientific" extrapolation of possible contacts being 680,000. Since "reported" infections and deaths are remarkably low either people in this theoretical group are asymptomatic or with minimal symptoms and not going to the hospital and getting tested. We'll see where the country is at next week with numbers. If the reported infection rate is minimal then I would expect that after the 18th things will loosen up a lot..

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)China fears ‘second wave’ after six week high in new casesSean KellyPublished 4 seconds ago on April 13, 2020BySean Kelly
China fears ‘second wave’ after six week high in new cases | The ThaigerReuters Aly Songfollow us in feedly
China has reported the highest increase in new coronavirus cases, the highest in nearly six weeks sparking fears of a second wave of infections. 108 new cases were reported Sunday, marking the highest number of cases since a peek of 143 cases in early March.

Yesterday, The National Health Commission in China confirmed 98 of the 108 new cases were “imported” coming from travellers arriving from abroad. The total number of confirmed cases in China is now 82,160, with 3,341 deceased according to officials statistics.

While the numbers of infections have dropped since the height of the epidemic in February, the daily toll of new cases continues to rise again after mass quarantine and lockdown measure helped to level off numbers in mid-March.

Beijing is concerned that infected people entering the country could cause a second wave and force a return to the severe lockdown measures that it has recently emerged from. Some 950 million people were told to stay in the homes and armed soldiers patrolled the streets. It worked.

The Heilongjiang province, which borders Russia, has reported 56 new cases of which 49 were Russian nationals. Chinese cities near the border with Russia have now committed to tighten border controls and quarantine measures for new arrivals.

Border cities such as Suifenhe and Harbin, now require all arrivals from abroad to quarantine for at least 28 days and submit to a nucleic acid and antibody tests and isolate residential units where confirmed and asymptomatic cases are found for and additional 14 days.

I wonder if the village is taking it seriously and spraying everyone's property and not just the dirty (filthy?) rich farang with the big new house just down the street? So far nobody has come asking about the token farang here but Mrs tam's on good terms with the puyai bahn and the orborter nurse so I guess I've being logged in a book somewhere.

After years of uninvited walk-ins, I finally got a door bell about 6 months ago... seems to do the job. Unfortunately, dogs get used to the friend and neigbour walk-ins that are part of moobahn life so getting these visitors to close the gate took a bit of time to get across but they're pretty good now.

Getting them up to speed with social distancing has been a challenge but I have noticed that they have been sitting further apart so maybe some pennies may be dropping somewhere.

But the big bonus is them all using the soap and wash stand that I set up just inside the gate. That and the sign that the oldest nephew wrote on cardboard and tied to the outside of the gate that asks people to use the sink. Small victories... now if only I had paid attention and gotten my bloody beer in earlier.

Here's hoping that the Thai health authorities have this inevitable Thailand 'second wave' covered with their containment and quarantine arrangements for Thai's arriving after the 18th. Especially since we haven't had a real first wave yet.

One of the comments that floated around after that first cock-up when two plane loads refused to be quarantined on arrival at BKK, was that the Sattahip facility wasn't ready at that time anyway. This came from the Navy themselves. Looks like they have things better organized this time but I think it would be better to extend the flight embargo to the end of the month.

My lazy rationale is if I can't buy a beer, you can't fookin' come home!

No new cases in Wuhan reported.
The central province of Hubei, where the virus emerged late last year, reported no new cases for a seventh successive day.
