Re: Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information
CAAT and airport authorities are preparing new rules and measures to practice physical distancing and avoid human contact.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) had a meeting with representatives from 20 airlines to prepare new rules and measures for passenger services during the COVID-19 outbreak. Airlines are required to observe the following rules to help reduce the spread of the virus once they resume services.
1. Distancing rule applies to seat layouts.
2. Passengers with a temperature exceeding 37.3 degrees celsius will not be accepted on the flight. Normal body temperature ranges from 36.0 degrees celsius to 37.3 degrees celsius.
3. Strictly observe physical distancing at check-in counters and during embarking and disembarking.
4. Minimize the number of passenger using the airside transfer bus and encourage them to practice physical distancing at all times.
5. Passengers are required to always wear a mask.
6. No food or drink may be served on the flight and passengers may not bring their own food or drink on board.
7. Special seats must be reserved for at-risk passengers on routes longer than 90 minutes, to minimize contact between passengers.
8. Crew members must wear masks, face shields, and gloves.
9. The routes will be arranged depending on the decision of each place to ease its lockdown.

Re: Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information
This is a serious thing to bear in mind, it’s not the first time I’ve heard the same from the UK, it’s important we keep up our guard against this virus, we are lucky to be in a country with a very low infection rate and if we are diligent in protecting ourselves it will hopefully stay that way.
Please do not add opinions etc to this thread, the same post from KP is on the misc Covid so you can post your theories etc there if you need to. Thanks.

Quoting :
Every week we learn something new about this
Covid-19, which has been around for scarcely five months. It is now clear that in the more serious cases,
this virus produces a disease that is rather more than an attack on the respiratory system. Far from being
a single system attack, critical Covid-19 is a complex multisystem clinical syndrome. The study,
reported by Mike Roberts and colleagues, describes that in addition to attacking the airways and lungs,
the virus may cause a microvascular reaction with increased likelihood of clotting in the blood vessels
and lungs and as if that is not bad enough the inflammatory damage may target the kidneys, heart,
nerves, muscles, brain and gastro-intestinal tract. About a third of patients hospitalised with Covid-19
will have acute kidney damage. For such critical cases as these who survive, a long and complex period
of rehabilitation will be needed. The more I understand this virus the less I want to meet it.
So although we may think we are free from this, the fact that now it is generally accepted that it will be around for months if not years and may never be entirely eradicated, then all lessons learnt to protect ourselves should be carried on in perpetuity

Re: Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information
Published by Reuters, so it will be interesting to see how it develops, let hope
Extract: Trial results announced on Tuesday showed dexamethasone, which is used to reduce inflammation in other diseases such as arthritis, reduced death rates by around a third among the most severely ill of COVID-19 patients admitted to hospital.
Britain’s health ministry wasted no time in acting on the findings, saying the drug had been approved for use in the state-run health service, export restrictions had been introduced and Britain had stockpiled 200,000 courses of the treatment.

"Thailand to launch nationwide Covid-19 vaccination in May"
Well the world along with Thailand are announcing the availablity of vaccines
Thai will aquire 26 million doses enough for 13 million people to start
The first to be called for registration will be medical staff, young children, the elderly, and vulnerable groups.
So if calculations are correct 6 months to get enough doses for 13 million people. Thailand has 70,000,000 people SO,It would take jist over 32.3 months to have enough vaccine for Thailand or 2.7 years

If production was at the same rate then yes, but production will be ramping up quickly so no it’s not going to be anything remotely close to that long.
