Yes, niggles.

Agree doodoo .. too many factual grey areas as usual .. if ifs n ans were pots n pans as my old gran used to say.

Niggly .. also unless of course you have passengers... you would also need to have a mask at the ready handy for any road check points.. so IMO surely its easier to where a mask than not...ISNT IT ?..its not painful , doesnt smudge my make up , ruffle my beard and i gave up trying to look cool years ago..

BD ... surely a quick check of the visa address and or driving license would show the truck not being KPs permanent residence ... IMO much easier just to wear a mask.

Figures down today. Wether or not it's the start of a downturn in the number of cases we shall find out in the next few days, I guess.
As for the wearing masks in cars debate...
As I understand it you wear a mask to protect other people from your breath, coughing, sneezing etc. not to protect yourself.
If you are in the car alone with the windows up then I don't think you have to wear a mask but I keep mine handy on the dashboard.
However if you are in a car with a few talkative people then you should put your mask on imo.

info for some that require it
The document says 7 days quarantine for those vaccinated 14 days prior to "departure". My partner returns to Thailand 9 days after her second jab. I am guessing that the word "departure" means the date leaving the UK and, not departure from quarantine as this will make a difference for her. Dont suppose anyone knows for sure?
If she delays her return flight by 1 week, she will only need 7 days ASQ on arrival here.

My point is whenever theres a government /provincial statement comes out like the one you posted there are always grey areas that leave some unsure as to the exact regulations .. it happens with immo announcements , changing traffic laws everything official.

Personally i dont a rats arse wether you KP or anyone wears or doesnt wear a mask in a car , taking a shower or in the sack with yer missus .. UP2U ..

So with so many UM members out and about checking prices of goods, getting haircuts, traffic conditions etc etc , Are you seeing the general public around the villages or town driving with masks or not?
All you blokes with high ranking copper mates, have you asked them?
It will be all over again soon like last year.

For the avoidance of doubt, this is what I posted with salient points highlighted for those unable to read & making assumptions as to my intentions about masks.

I don’t give a toss what other members do or think, it was a perfectly legitimate question based on a factual document not an excuse to make unfounded allegations & jibes.
Most people have problems here because they always want to read between the lines & look for non existent grey areas. I clearly said the order was open to interpretation, what’s so hard to understand?

I’ll get this out here first, I have no problem with wearing a mask whenever I leave the house but to clarify the executive order, don’t points 1 & 2 state masks must be worn when leaving your residence if

“having activities requiring contact or involving other persons”

“every time there is an activity that requires contact or involving other persons”

One could construe that driving your car does not require contact or involve other people.

Naturally this is also open to interpretation by those enforcing the order

I recently mentioned here or in a related thread that the drivers I could see at traffic lights, a lot seem to be wearing masks inside their cars. Whether there's more doing that than before is hard to define as we never really bothered to look before. As I also mentioned, the tinted glass on most vehicles make it difficult to see ANYTHING inside most local's cars.

I put my mask on to go out and open the gate, drive out and close the gate. Once inside the truck, the mask comes off. When I am driving, unless my window is down, I am not wearing a mask. However, it hangs from the turn signal stalk on the steering column and, like the 3 red bits of red-colored behind the sun visor, easy to reach if/when I see the BiB in action. However, I will wear a mask if I am not alone in the truck.

FWIW, most people drive with aircon on and cabin air re-circulate closed so the whole masking up thing while driving is a bit redundant IMHO. In reality, the virus is small enough get past the foam seal on the recirculate flapper and through the HEPA filter but I'm not about to hazard any opinion on how a vehicle's air handling system impacts aerosol spread.

Up 2 U.
YMMV

You nailed it .. each to ther own on mask wearing.

IMO ..intentional or not lack of clarity within official press releases leave grey areas that are open to the interpretation of those enforcing the law... this goes for not only this issue but speed limit zoning , immo regs etcetc...

Same here, my mask in use is kept on the indicator stalk, while Mrs Ns & The Girls are hung on a cup holder on the dashboard passenger side. We’ve also got a pouch of the “medical” ones in the glove box for emergencies or ill equipped passengers.

We also have an alcohol gel dispenser in the drivers door cup holder so we can rinse hands whenever getting in.

It’s been like this since last March

So no definitive answer, using common-sense, one would say no mask when driving alone others say the opposite . Depending on the interpretation of the law by the chap that stops you .
Wearinmg a mask is not the issue and using common-sense is also not the issue, but when you see motorcyclist haring off down the road wearing a mask and no helmet one does begin to wonder.
Myself like others have a mask handy all the time while driving alone . A sensible precaution
