Thailand on Friday (June 11) reported 2,290 new COVID-19 cases and 27 additional deaths over the past 24 hours.

● 1,996 new infections

● 294 prison / prison infections


Friday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 189,828 with 1,402 deaths.

The news comes as the Delta (Indian) variant of COVID-19 has spread to 11 provinces in Thailand, with 348 people found to be infected to date, including 318 cases in Bangkok alone, according to Dr. Supakit Sirilak, director-general of the Thai Medical Sciences Department.(Reuters)

I paid my 3800B fee yesterday because I thought they would be overwhelmed. Received an em from BH today saying they are suspending registration due to overwhelming demand.
I can wait until Oct to receive the Moderna vaccine.

The same day Ban Dung Dero gets an email from BKK UD hospital to register and pay in advance ( AMERICAN VACCINE THREAD) ... fdimike receives email saying registration is suspended.

Does anyone know WTF is going on ??

Overwhelmed!!! I find it quite extraordinary so many people are willing to part with their cash under such vague conditions! I sent em a reply email saying I would consider a <20% deposit to register or just wait to see how things pan out between now and October.

I don't think it will be very easy to deal with this. Moderna has some very stringent shipping/storage requirements to include it needs to be stored at -50deg C. It was explained to me yesterday that they needed a firm number of people registered and paid to confirm the exact number of Moderna doses needed to avoid wasted vaccines at considerable cost. I registered months ago via the Udon Ex Pat Club and direct walk in at the International Office & received an email early yesterday morning.
I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say vague conditions. Nothing vague about it as far as I can see.

Vague, the price not being fixed for a start and now the "flip flops". High volume of reservations = my arse!

Just received this reply from them. Only 3 hours since I sent in my refusal so they are not being run off their feet.

It seems confusion reigns ..

I just called the hospital international office they took my full name , email address and contact phone number and told me i was now registered to get the Moderna vaccine when it arrives in October 2021 ... and that i will receive notification of details including payment in the near future.

Stopped at Bangkok Hospital about 45 minutes after they announced the temporary halt in reservations. Young lady asked for copy of the email we received, passports and 3800 baht. Took us to the cashier. Gave us a receipt and we were gone. About 20 minutes total. She said they are still thinking Oct for vaccine to arrive. She told us the halt was for new people trying to get on their list. Email clearly states you are registered once they have the required documents and payment

at 8 AM today, Friday the 11th when I showed up at BKK Hospital to pay the fees, the customer service fellow told me that since they sent the e-mail yesterday afternoon over 4000 people had paid. At 3800 baht a pop that's a lotta moolah.. 15,200,000 baht or over half a million US dollars.. Pretty good cash flow for a promise. Guess they'll be reaping some interest on it till they actually pay for the imported doses that will be controlled by the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO).. the figure of 10 million doses for private sale has been published. I wonder how the allocation to private hospitals and health organizations will go and how many BKK hospital will actually receive?? I asked the customer service fellow about the fee of 3800 baht. He stated that amount was mandated by the Thai government. I replied that their own e-mail said it might go up.. He said yes, it could. When I asked if I would get a partial refund if it went down he laughed!

This was in the email I received from Bangkok Hospital regarding the Moderna Covid Vaccine. I am only posting this to help prevent someone from misunderstanding infor from Bangkok Hospital. It seems some think because they spoke to the Hospital and gave them contact info they are registered.

Saturday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 193,105 (total infections since April 1: 164,242) with 1,431 deaths.

The news comes as the ambassadors of Belgium and France asked the Thai government to arrange for COVID-19 vaccinations for their citizens.
