Yet another email appeared in my inbox from BKUDH .. an update on the payment methods options... there are now only two options .. direct into the hospital Krungsri Bank account or Physical payment in cash at the hospital .. looks like CC payments have been stopped.

Dao called TCPH today .. still no details or confirmation as to when vaccines will arrive and a vaccination program will commence, the guy in customer relations stated they had not received any information timetable or guidelines from the government and the position is changing all the time .. so TCPH looks like a nono at the moment.

They did acknowledge as my data is held there from my recent surgery it is ok to register to receive the vaccine at that location when it arrives and they would inform as to which vaccine it would be and price at that time.

I have received another email and a phone call from BKUDH .. basically ""reminding" me payment must be made before 6pm tomorrow to avoid missing out on the vaccine program.

Thailand on Tuesday (June 15) reported 3,000 new COVID-19 cases and 19 additional deaths over the past 24 hours.



● 2,360 new infections
● 640 prison / prison infections



Tuesday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 202,264 with 1,485 deaths.
(Total infections since April 1: 173,401)


The news comes as the Ministry of Public Health’s online registration page, which just three days earlier had informed foreigners in Thailand they would be able to register for a vaccine from June 14 had been updated to say that vaccine registrations are not currently available.

the wife chatted with the Pu-Yai Ban's wife today. She's a member of the village volunteer medical team (Aw Saw Maw). They got their vaccinations (both shots) with the final jab two weeks ago. So, there's vaccine in Udon depending upon who you are and what your position is.... BTW, our village Volunteer Medical team has about 14 people or so as shown at the head lady's house where she has photos of them all. When "activated" to support medical missions they don their tan uniforms and occasionally do health checks, anti-mosquito, and other tasks. At the bottom of the totem pole for the government bureaucracy.

Same here. Brother-in-law is an Ampur accountant. He was told he had to take the (AZ) shot. He did, finally, but demanded his objection be received in writing, in case he carks it. One has already died after receiving the shot -- which is one more than the total number of covid deaths we've had locally. It's not very popular at the moment.

My noodle soup shop of 25 years: daughter works with Air Asia in Udon, got her 2 shots. Mother/Father work in the soup kitchen, nothing else. Got their first dose a few days ago. Aussie English teacher at Don Bosco got his. Nobody that we know in our village got theirs, yet.

talked with the village chief's wife at the park while walking tonight. She confirmed yes, she's had both doses and it was SINOVAC. I asked her if a lot of people in our village had gotten it and she said, "yes, and that woman walking right there got it too!" Don't know what to make of that since the wife and I filled out the village registration forms and turned them into the head Village Health Volunteer at her house. we've known her for nearly 50 years. (not that I'm keen to get SINOVAC versus waiting for MODERNA from BKK Hospital) Guess we can ask the woman tomorrow.

Thursday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 207,724 with 1,555 deaths.

The news comes as Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha declared Wednesday that Thailand will fully reopen its borders within four months, as the country is to begin welcoming fully vaccinated foreign tourists, starting with the southern resort island of Phuket on July 1st.(Reuters)

Only a matter of time before Khao San Road has knock-off vaccination certificates, and pharmacies are schlepping small vials of saline as genuine covid vaccine.
