Gutted that the (typically) fickle Pommie weather will likely deny the Australians the opportunity to press home for another victory. :(
Jack, whatever you are smoking....good 5hit, if I imbibed in Maryjane I would want the name of your dealer.

Oooohhh !! It NEVER Rains in Australia Does it ??.....Heavy flooding broke out in the Central Coast and Sydney areas of New South Wales, Australia, beginning in early July 2022. Around 85,000 people were displaced by the flooding or requested to leave their homes by authorities.
Wow! Really? How did that affect the Ashes?

Anyway, the rain in Manchester did conspire to allow the Aussies to take urn back home.

I can honestly say that I have never got so much enjoyment or had so much fun watching the weather radar. No wonder all you poms from Lancashire are in Thailand. It's a proper sh1te hole.
Australia retain the Ashes and have won 6 of the last 9 Ashes tests (2 Lucky draws for England and a Gary Lyon inspired pommy victory at Headingly).

Australia push past 100. 109/0. 274 more needed for an historical victory

Where did the name cricket come from?

The name may have been derived from the Middle Dutch krick(-e), meaning a stick; or the Old English cricc or cryce meaning a crutch or staff, or the French word criquet meaning a wooden post.

Oh dear! .... the ephemeral "Spirit of Cricket" seems to have been lost in the heat of battle. :D

Bloody hypocrite - and he is the captain.

But the diabolical pommie weather may yet save the home town whingers.

Predictable response(s).

So no comment on the "catch" and following review.

The English weather conspired to help the Aussies at Old Trafford.

The same English weather conspired to help the English at the Oval.

Who's got the Ashes, Twinkle Toes?

Any comment on the "Spirit"? You had plenty to say previously, but this time ..... crickets .....

(Excuse the pun).

It's always dissapointing to lose or draw with those who we consider to be physically inferior. But the upside is that we have now held the Ashes for four series and 20 test matches on the trot. When we win the ashes, as we did 4 - 0 in 2016, we remain winners by either winning or drawing a series. When you lose a series, as the poms did 4 series ago, you remain losers until you are good enough to win a series and win the ashes back. You get another chance to do that in 4 years as we will inevitably win 4 or 5 - 0 at home in the summer of 24/25. Until then winners are grinners and losers can go fight in the carpark. 8)

It's obvious from your 'spirited' gurnning that the difference between simply retaining the wee urn and actually winning them in Pomgolia isn't lost on you, Honey Bunch?

So not a 'win' then? It's OK to admit that your team's just not quite good enough (again).

However, it's probably more incredibly disappointing just to be an Australian, right?
