Outside, looking in

This is a very well presented and succinct report on Thailand's current and continuing political debacle. Thai media wouldn't dare call it a "train wreck."

Interesting article.

But I really can't see why you can't have Mr Brown Paper Bag in Cabinet when the Constitutional (sic) Court has previously ruled it is kosher to have Mr White Flour Smuggler there.

Also, does anyone see the irony in the SCMP reporting on sensitive issues within Thailand, when it obviously can't report on just as sensitive issues in its own home port of Hong Kong.

Perhaps the BP could do an article on the political repression occurring in Hong Kong.

The SCMP does report on controversial events in Hong Kong. Mostly, but not always, they follow the political line endorsed by Peking (Beijing).

Next, it would be nice to see the SCMP commenting on the appointment of an astrologer to the Thai Senate.

This is an example of the type of article the South China Morning Post can still write. The Government of China no doubt does not care if there aren't any foreign judges working in Hong Kong.
