ABC biased
Re: ABC biased
It was just the audio that was edited. Probably by some over zealous junior editor to make it look AND SOUND more impressive for prime time and not with any nefarious or slanderous intent?

Re: ABC biased
Right
The junior editor decided that he and he alone would doctor the video to prove how honest and accurate ABC are. Then the totally innocent Mark Willacy just happened to pick up the story and claim all evidence was 100% accurate and Australia should be ashamed of its fighting forces.
Just a bit like the scummy solicitor in the UK who was paying Iraqis to make false statements about UK troops being murderers. Claiming millions in Legal Aid to pursue false claims for financial compensation. Then instantly filed for bankruptcy when found guilty of manipulating evidence and to pay back the millions in taxpayers monies.
Perhaps he is in line to become the next Servant of the People, has all the qualifications.

Great song by the Stealers, just a shame for you that they never made a decent version of the Red Flag Flying High.

Wonder how many left wing media outlets will carry this news? Proves that there are scummy, sleazy people all over the world.

Re: ABC biased
If there is a point of difference, Shiner took responsibility albeit he claimed he was not in full control of his mental faculties at this time. As compared to Willacy who completely distanced himself from liability.

The G article was about a tribunal finding that only prevented him from practicing as a solicitor.
This is a Court of Law who can and should pass down a custodial sentence, if there is any space left in prison that is.

I'm not even sure how there is any commonality between these two cases.
However, another, major it would seem to me, point of difference, is that Shiner has been convicted of crimes involving fraud over his conduct, whereas Willacy has not been accused, let alone convicted, of anything illegal.
I also note that Justice Lee made the following points in his judgement in the Russell defamation case:
However, another, major it would seem to me, point of difference, is that Shiner has been convicted of crimes involving fraud over his conduct, whereas Willacy has not been accused, let alone convicted, of anything illegal.
I also note that Justice Lee made the following points in his judgement in the Russell defamation case:
Lee found that the ABC investigative journalist Mark Willacy, who was the author of the articles alongside his colleague Josh Robertson, had not established the public interest defence.
Lee said he had no doubt Willacy “believed the publication of the matter was in the public interest” but “his belief was not reasonable in the circumstances”.
The article published in November 2021 “overstated the cogency of the evidence in the ABC’s possession and was published following several missteps, including the failure to procure fairly and consider a response from Mr Russell”, Lee found.
But the publication was not “improper, unjustified, or lacking in bona fides” because the ABC considered it was important and of public benefit.

And you still maintain Willet and his production team were not complicite in the falsification of sound and video evidence. Fine just as long as you still believe the moon is made of green cheese.jackspratt wrote: ↑October 1, 2024, 4:44 pmI'm not even sure how there is any commonality between these two cases, other than in someone's fertile imagination.

Re: ABC biased
I get it now, The Willacy inquisition of Russell was predicated on the belief that the Australian public needed to be convinced that Russell was a war criminal thus the need to insert false video footage of shots fired to substantiate the moral high ground taken by Willacy.

Re: ABC biased
I prefer to take a more positive view, tony.
Willacy and his team seemed to be focussed on exposing alleged war crimes by Australian special forces in Afghanistan, evidence of which has been revealed in the Brereton Report https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brereton_Report
That sounds like good journalism to me.
That they overstepped the line in relation to Russell and his crew has been adjudged by Justice Lee, in respect to the "not enough room on the helicopter" incident, to be the case - hence the damages paid to Russell. Albeit, as I outlined above, no damning negative findings against Willacy himself.
Once again, I am happy to await the findings of the independent investigation in relation to the "added" shots video - bearing in mind the added shots actually occurred.
We can also consider the findings against VC winner Roberts-Smith, and the damning video and prosecution of Soldier C in his "alleged" murder of the guy in the wheat field. Which still hasn't been contested.

The waste of tax payer money continues with the bias of the ABC.
17 months to provide a internal racism report.
Plus the extreme amount of time to welcome themselves to our country.

The ABC bias in full view. What a waste of Aussie tax payer money they are.
This report will be seen by our resident UM climate catastrophists, especially those who shout from the roof tops that the barrier reef is doomed for whatever crazy reason they have this year.

Re: ABC biased
God help Australia when people become incapable of seeing the difference between the ABC and Sky After Dark.
The first being the most, or almost, trusted news source in the country, the other a distrusted, standing joke.
Congratulations to the ABC for taking a deep look at its internal culture around racism, and vowing to do something about it. Not in your widest dreams could you imagine a Murdoch organisation doing the same. Or the other commercial news organisations for that matter.
Racism is a scourge, and it matters.

Re: ABC biased
The ABC, stands for Australian Broadcasting Communism. Full of liars, lefties, greenies, snowflakes, no one should take them seriously. Defund them and they can find sponsors, lol, they will never survive under the current regime.

And the "current regime" will be finished in three...two....one

Great idea, Sport.
Have you thought about who is going to fill the gap, particularly into rural and remote areas, with public service announcements and emergency warnings next time there are widespread bushfires, cyclones, floods or other natural disasters?

Re: ABC biased
If only the ABC could limit itself to what was their core responsibilities instead of enhancing their left leaning agenda by succumbing to corrupt reporting to make their case. Maintain all the services which support remote areas of Australia and leave the muck racking to other entities which do not have a National obligation to provide unbiased representation.
Re: ABC biased
Yep, Sky news and 2GB could put a few extra antennas to broadcast to the outback.jackspratt wrote: ↑October 4, 2024, 10:27 amGreat idea, Sport.
