Chris' Place (Sponsor)

Hi Chris. I will be in Udon Thani next month, unless I get side-tracked in Patong.

I remember Harry's Burger Bar, then the Soul Bar with "The UnderTaker" haha (Nobby Zooer)!

But I look forward to meeting you.
I have been missing Udon Thani.
Cheers, Frank (Melbourne)

For expat aussies needing a laugh 'Entrapment'

Thanks guys. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. I have forwarded them both on to my contacts that I know will appreciate both the Aussie humour as well as Billy Connelly's unique entertainment.

Unbelievable bit of driving

Thanks for that Dennis, I really enjoyed the clip. One of my all-time favourite car chases is the one in Bullet, with Steve McQueen. Also, enjoyed the closing scene with the Little River Band, singing Sail Away. One of my favourite bands. Will be back in Udon in November. Hope to catch up for a "Bur...

Nobi's

Is this the same "Nobi" that had the Soul Bar, after Harry's Bar, and before Chris's Bar?

Savannakhet: An observation.

Many thanks Laan Yaa Mo.
My girlfriend likes me to take her to visit Mukdahan (market shopping) :D
I think I will go over Savannakhet next time.
I'm not a real gambler, but I do enjoy playing roulette.

Savannakhet: An observation.

Thanks for a great review Laan Yaa Mo. I've been to Mukdahan a couple of time and thought about going across to Savannakhet and maybe try my luck on the roulette table. Can you pick up a visa and cross over at Mukdahan?

Caught Drink Driving

Thanks for the warning Sakhonnick. I got pulled over a couple of nights ago on the Ring Road. I had a couple of beers with dinner. Anyone who knows me would agree that I'm not a heavy drinker. But because the last one I had was only 2 minutes before the breathalyser I think it made the reading highe...

Air Asia - New Cabin Baggage Rules

Nice surprise today. I looked online for Thai Airways next week from Udon to BKK. Best price 2090B I was picking up a relative arriving in Udon today, so I thought I would buy the ticket at the airport instead of using my credit card online. I asked the guy can you match the internet price. He said ...

Ya can't fix stupid...another example

Here's one that's been annoying me for a long time, but I was reminded of it again today during a visit to Central Plaza. In the toilets, after you wash your hands, you reach out for some paper towels, hahaha. The huge tissue rolls they have are so flimsy that it just breaks away in your hands when ...

Air Asia - New Cabin Baggage Rules

OT ... Thai Smiles was pretty much on time. The flight attendants were very attractive young women (I presume). I nearly missed a flight to Melbourne a couple of years ago because Air Asia was 3 hours late arriving and leaving Udon, however they did make up somewhat by offloading my baggage first an...

Air Asia - New Cabin Baggage Rules

I recently flew in from Australia to Suvarnabhumi (JetStar A$503) and got an Air Asia flight the next day from Don Muang to Krabi. I didn't book a return flight from Krabi because I wasn't sure how long we would stay, e.g. bad weather etc. I ended up staying 12 nights. (I was also dreading the house...

Need advice, am I being scammed?

Haha Best laugh I've had in a long time. Poster's name is DumbGuy, first post - say no more.
If he needs to ask this question on here, there is NO help for him! Just thought I would waste 2 minutes replying.

50,s - 70.s music

I found a good website for online radio. You can choose the music genre, news, language, country etc. They also have an app for your smartphone. http://www.tunein.com
It is probably the one thing I miss most when I am in Udon Thani - an English speaking radio station.

Nong Khai and Loei

Hareeba, having done this trip in January, if you want a 6-day trip, I would suggest: Phu Rua - 2 nights Chiang Khan - 2 nights Nong Khai - 2 nights Don't take the road along the Mekong from Phu Rua to Chiang Khan via Tha Li, unless you have an SUV or 4-WD. Scenery is brilliant! But really not suita...

redwolf, I think your experience shows a total lack of basic customer care or service on the Prajaktra's part. I believe you should have been offered a discount, without asking for it. It reminded me of my stay last year at the Maya Buri Resort on Koh Samui. I can't speak highly enough of their care...
