Thai Retirement visa

By the way, the U.S. Consulate takes your word for how much your income is so you do not need to provide them with any documentation of income.

Thai Retirement visa

I did mine in the States and it was no major problem. I downloaded the Thai medical form which is a simple one page form for your doctor to fill out. I took the form to my VA doctor and he filled it out for me while I waited. For my police report I went to my local law enforcement agency during norm...

Meeting the family of my girlfriend

Most of the above positive advice all seems good. You should also keep in mind that a girl bringing her boyfriend to meet the family is an indicator that a marriage may be expected in the future. I would suggest you read up on the subject of “Sin Sod” so that if and when you do marry your angel you ...

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)

Phayakk12 gave a good description of some of the basics. I would like to add that one of the reasons the VFW was formed was to assist war veterans in obtaining medical benefits for injuries and disabilities they may have incurred during service to their county during time of war and for benefits to ...

You really cant tell can you? (Wife leaves me)

I feel for you man and I hope you at least are able to get some sort of custody (full or part-time) for your son. So far I think you are on the right track by having a lawyer working on this for you. Now as for your wife's reason for doing this I do not know but I do have a friend in Chiang Mai that...

I do believe English is the national language of Singapore. So I would expect her to have a good command of the English language.

Recent experience shipping items from the US

I had the exact same thing happen to me a couple of years ago when I used fed-ex to send clothing that would not fit in my suitcases. They started out asking for 25,000 baht but after two days of going back and forth with them they settled for 9,000 baht. Since then I have had my relatives use regul...

social security administration (USA)

Don't forget that if you served in the military to add in a copy of your DD 214 when you file for your social security, you get a few extra dollars for each year you served. BarnicaleBob, I applied online for SS benefits and started receiving in August last year. I don't recall seeing any options f...

AGAIN, Austrian murdered in Udon Thani

I agree with augustus_777 that stabbing someone 20 times is not indicative of self defense. 20 or more stab wounds would be a indicator of strong passionate emotion of hate. He must have really found her trigger and she reacted with great amounts of emotion.

Has anyone seen my plane?

I have been told that if you want to know who owns an aircraft you can find a website that you can input the tail number on and it will tell you who it is registered to. A tail number recently ran of a random aircraft showed that it was registered to the Air Force of a Southeast Asian nation. I also...

Has anyone seen my plane?

I do not know what the subject refers to but I am wondering if it may have been talked about on another forum Thaivisa because all of a sudden as of late this morning it seems to be blocked. Anyone else know what happened to Thaivisa? Please, if it was because they broke a law about speaking about s...

Newly divorced

Stan, this is just a thought for you and I am sure you already know this but maybe now is a good time to remind you and many of our other fellow older falangs. I’m there yet but there sometimes comes a point in a man’s life where sex may not be the main reason for a good relationship. When that time...

Stan, look at it as a new adventure in your life. You now have so many options to choose from, keep moving forward and don't look back. I'm on my 5th marriage and this one is my second Asian wife, each time it looks like forever but sometimes fate changes all that. Good luck and enjoy the freedom.

I have been using Glocks since 1985 and have never been let down by any of them I've owned or been issued. If your set on having a Glock and what your looking for is really for your wife, I would suggest the GLOCK 28, it is a .380. Small in dimensions and weight, it is great in performance when carr...

In the States a Glock 19 goes for around $450.00 depending on where you purchase it. In Thailand it is my understanding the price is almost double that. You may find a deal at a police supply store, I only know the location of the one in Chiang Mai. You will have to look up the location of one for U...

American & British History .

As an American I have a different sense of British history than trubrit does; His quote "A walk across open fields will soon reveal a portion of Hadrians wall, or a settlement, where Romans lived 800 years ago" is not what we Americans would say. In my American sense of history I would have said; "w...

William ' Bill ' Young - some background to his life

I had the opportunity to speak with Bill’s family and some of his friends as well as some people still in the business recently at Bill's funeral. Bill was an amazing man and continued to be a resource of information up until his death. He could be called up from someone trekking through the jungle ...
