i stayed at january at udon...and new night market was very quietly. now i see many pubs and restaurant closed or for sale in udonthani...whats happen?? and now Carrfour open soon with mcdonalds....looks not like the recession arrived udon but whats true and whats wrong about business there?

....don´t forget, lifestyle at thailand going more and more expencive. to get a comfortable life its need a very good pension- min. 50000-60000baht if you want not eat each day a soup. western food is too expencive....a mcdonalds menu just now 240bath in germany is 1 big burger, 1 big frites and 1 b...

@oldtimer....but sizzler is very expencive and if i visited at january 2009 i get not a fresh chicken - it was frozen 300baht for a buffet in thailand not cheap- here in germany chinese restaurant offer buffet 250baht - crazy to pay same price in thailand

sooooo many restaurants at udon thani, so many food at night markets and so many fast food restaurants coming like mcdonalds. same as in germany. fresh cooking restaurants are gone, closed coz people want eat cheap and fast - no time to enjoy a dresh lunch or dinner. all taste of foods are the same....

last january 2009 i stayed at udonthani. so many restaurants are empty.i was looking for a good seafood restaurant but hard to find. at night market i saw grill tilapia...but thats not my taste and i think the quality is not teh best one. i would like to eat a red snapper or barramundi....
