Re: TAX on Income from Abroad
This has totally upended my retirement plans. Then you don’t have a trusted friend, you haven’t actually researched the tax law or you are spending in excess of 10.5~20.5 million baht per year My concern is the planned taxation on worldwide income. I can control the amount of remittance to limit my...

Re: TAX on Income from Abroad
They will get the information from your home country, if it's a member of the OECD. They are going after all foreigners residing in Thailand for 180 days or more. This has totally upended my retirement plans. And if you have already paid home country tax why would Thailand think it can tax again if...

Re: TAX on Income from Abroad

Of course this "gift" to your spouse is for their personal use, and cannot be used for living expenses for you both.

Re: Visa Question
Thanks for clearing that up, I indeed have an extension of stay. I hope there is not a problem, because I am returning on a one way ticket. Immigration at the airport will have nothing to say about your one way ticket. The only people who may say something will be the checkin staff at your departur...

Re: new tax for all foreigners...
Are you saying, any funds you brought into Thailand in 2023 is Taxable? I thought this tax grab is only from Jan. 1, 2024. If that is the case, I guess all expats who spent more than 180 days in Thailand last year, have already filed Thai taxes for 2023. The deadline has long since passed, yet it se...

Re: new tax for all foreigners...
Maybe with this edict, the penny will drop with the sour faced "Mrs Cannot" at the Udon tax office when I try and apply for a Thailand TIN. Did you get one? It will be interesting how the revenue office intends to assess worldwide income, how will they know how much I earn in roubles in Moscow? You...

Re: TAX on Income from Abroad
you can always avoid paying tax by sending the money to your wife's account as a gift , gifts up to 20 million baht are free of tax ,although many will not trust this as they do not trust their own wife ... Is this a fact, or are you just joking. If it is indeed true, then one could just send...
