Re: Google Assistant
And Google assistant just keeps getting better too. In my case, I decided to fully embrace the NSA. I've got two Google Home Hubs, one on my desk, and one on my headboard, and two Google Home Minis, one by the treadmill and one by the living room TV. Asking it questions is nice, but I've found the m...

Re: Where to buy a decent computer desk?
This is from a while ago, but if I were replacing my desk I'd probably go to Index as my first place to look. If it's just a matter of the desk being what you want, but not having a keyboard tray, I'd put "under desk keyboard tray Thailand" into google and follow the Lazada, UBuy, and eBay links. An...

Spy Mirror or Two-way Mirror
I'm looking to buy one, maybe two see-through mirrors, in the 60 cm x 100 cm size range, but I'm so far at a loss where to find any in Thailand, let alone Udon. Ever since I first saw a "Magic Mirror" project, I've wanted to build one. I've already got two Samsung 24" monitors I'm not using anymore....

Re: Good shop for circuit board repair - recommendations?
Ended up going to Landmark Tukcom and picking a random shop that had a soldering station visible. Seems to have worked out okay.

Re: Wanted: PS4 or X-Box
I've seen XBox360s at Landmark / Tukcom, along with lots of copies of games. I have a 360 that I brought over from the US. Be aware, at least on the older consoles, they are NOT universal power supplies. It was quite exciting when I plugged a 120vac only powerblock into a Thailand 220vac wall outlet...

Re: Current best internet and TV options in the city
I have Udon Cable. It is dismissal for English language, but the wife and daughter love it. Four drops in the house and around 2000 baht per year. For me, I get all my English language media content via my internet feed.

Re: RE: Re: Current best internet and TV options in the city
We had 3BB when we lived in Pattaya, and transferred it up to Udon. When working, it was brilliant, but for our area around the airport, the repair quality was crap. Now we're on TOT fiber. So far, so good. The plans get faster and cheaper every year or so, and that has been an unexpected bonus. In...

Re: ACS Outreach
I'm in Pattaya now, and visited the outreach this morning. They announced that they will now accept passport renewal applications via mail. That would have saved me a trip down here but I'd have missed out on the restaurant visits. 555

Re: driver license
I suspect the specific answer is that your IDL is valid in your country of origin for one year. However, it is only valid in Thailand for 90 days per visit. Already having an IDL makes getting a Thai license dead easy, and then there is no longer a question about whether or not your driving license ...

Haven't seen Udon on the schedule yet. Making the sacrifice to go down to the March 03 visit in Pattaya. Hope Udon gets back on the schedule.

Re: RE: Re: Change Green book owners name
You also need a letter from Immigration (500 THB) Hi Gar Can you confirm that the $100 included the cost of the respray & all administration formalities I have a yellow book and a pink ID card, so I don't worry about the Residence Certificate anymore. Yes, from what I recall, I paid 2000 for the ta...

Re: Change Green book owners name
BTW, I had all kinds of horror stories about how challenging it was to do a color change and get the book changed. That was not my experience, but I also did not try to do it myself.

Re: Change Green book owners name
I'll talk about the color change. When I had my bad get off, I decided to change my bike color from black to pearl white. The Thai guy that did the color change also took my green book down and got that sorted. As I recall, changing the bike color and getting the book sorted was less than $100 USD.

Re: Yellow House Books
I'm not sure if I needed to have my Yellow Book first, but I've added the pink ID card to my collection. Last motorcycle I bought was just using the pink ID card rather than the Yellow Book. As an aside, went to the US Embassy visit and forgot my passport. They said photo ID with signature was good ...

Re: Up to date info on drivers license
Just as an aside, if you get yourself a yellow house book, it take the place of Immigration Residence Certificates. And depending on how accommodating your Thai landlord is, you can get a yellow book even if you are renting.

You can see the ABS ring in the photo, so yes. But, also yes, it would be good to check to see if the VIN is subject to the recall.dugles wrote:Does it have ABS?
