True Fiber Internet Connection

We lived in the Nong Bua area of Udon until last April. We had transferred our True Hi-Speed account from Bangkok with very little fuss. The fibre optic with True Internet TV was excellent.I had a coouple of tech problems, which were quickly fixed. For a time we had 3BB, who seemed okay, but transfe...

Accident Toll, Udon, New Year Holiday

I left my Australian home state, Victoria at the end of 1989. The population was then just over 4 million and there were 776 Road Deaths. The following year strict new road laws were brought in and enforced. Last year (2015), the population was somewhere around 6 million. The annual Road toll has dr...

Australians Rise Up?

Australia is a "nanny state" these days, where there is a law or some sort of control, for just about anything and everything. However, as Noosard points out, there have always been controls on firearms, from what sort you can legally own (for instance, pistols have always been outlawed, for all but...

We live just over the outer side of the Mittraphap Hwy, Nong Bua and have True Hi-Speed internet. Yesterday around 2pm the internet cut out and was off for around 2hours. I called the service number, 1686. The woman I spoke to checked immediately and informed be there was no connection, and she woul...

I live with a moveaholic. Everytime the power goes off I discover she has moved the candles and torch, if she is out then I never find them. Why can't women just leave things alone     So true! And, then when you can't find them you get called stupid and more!!! W...

If you take the True Hi-Speed Internet you also get the free Cable Channel package which includes Australia +
It seems Udon is not good for Australia+ via your own satellite dish

This morning I needed to go and do my 90 Day report at Immigration. We left home (Nong Bua - just the other side of Mittraphap) at 8:15 and I was standing in a queue of 4 by 8:40. At 8:50 I left the office with a new report form in my passport. Our place in Don Muang is about the same distance from ...

Can123, apart from your comment about traffic (which you did not specify any locations in BKK a city of either 8 or 12 million, depending on where you care to draw the boundaries - compared to Udon, with around 400,000 and no more than a couple of bad traffic spots), you are talking in generalities....

We lived in the Don Muang district of Bangkok (still have a town house there) from 2000 until 2013, when we moved up to Udon Thani. At the time I was working downtown and had to negotiate the Rama IX traffic daily. Often I would be waiting 20-30 minutes just to move 100m and cross the Asoke RamaIX i...

Villa Market on the move?

UD Town is a much better location. The only time parking can be a problem is after 5:30pm. However, the number of times we've gone to Lotus at that hour, we've always found a spot - even if most are full. This should be great for competition with Lotus (which is quite a good store) and even Tops, at...

Come on Jack, there'll be more than 40,000 this year.
After 50 years in the wilderness - apart from 1988 and 2000 (where we still failed to bring the flag home) - our time is at hand.

It looks as if my options for watching the mighty Dees in action this year hinges on TOT,s promise to extend the fibre optic (30mb)to our village by end of Feb . I will then have the option of either streaming through Watchafl or going with Expat tv via their android system. Watchafl costs $139 us ...

I think you'll find its gone from Intelsat 19 to 18. Jack Spratt on this forum seems to know a lot more about setting up and adjusting satellite dishes than me. He is of the opinion that because of its setting being so low in the eastern sky, you almost need to be living on a mountain to get it. We ...
