Agreed. This was what I was getting at the other day when I said 'walk away from the PC and calm down a little before posting a reply'. Other posters getting shirty starts to look hilarious.

Of course, that self control is a bit difficult if you've come back from a night downtown and you're half cut... :drunk:

Isn't it amazing, how much our current mood affects what we say/write. I learned a long time ago it's better to engage brain first and then speak. ;) Of course we're all just human and sometimes nasties come out before we think.

The other part that is amazing when you meet these people there are generally very kind and polite people The best example I can think of was Val, he was an absolute terror on the forum. But he is a person when you meet him is totaly different then what you saw on the forum. Really a great guy who cares about people.

You know Val took a lot of heat on here, but the reality is he tried his best to make our lives a bit better.

Some of it I understand guys are exercing the demons. Everyone needs a release. Frustrations can build sky high here. So who do you speak to the guy in the bar, that could result in a beer bottle on the side of the head. Nope better watch your mouth there.

The wife who might understand 20% of what your saying and 100% doesn't want to hear it. A person who can make your liife a living hell an never speak a word.

But here, your in a world that is not real and you can be the biggest horses ass around and changes nothing in your real life past that screen in front of you. A safe place to be an ass. By the way I'm not excluding myself.

Along comes a newbie living in a world where almost everything he tries to communicate is understood. He hits the frustration wall trying to learn things.

Until you live in the world of almost total non understanding you can never relate to the guys who do.

I too wish it was bit more friendly place, this cyber land of ours. But, I'm afraid it is what it is.

agree 100% with everything you posted.

Remember, when you talk face to face you see a person's facial expressions, body language, etc. Makes a big difference when in cyber space you can only judge a person by what they write and some folks just don't express themselves well on the internet. So as you stated it's easy to form a wrong impression about someone.

about only 20% of communication is the spoken word , the rest is eye contact , facial expression , and body mannerisms , so its very difficult sometimes to assertain whether people are serious or otherwise on a web site , where your communication skills are only recieving the 20% . many times ive posted tongue in cheek, so to speak and upset people, and im sure the reverse has happened to me. i too when first using this site had very mixed views about other users including some ive since met at the N M meeting, and had to drasticaly change my opinion of these people after meeting them in the flesh for the better i must add. my point is , its very difficult to know the posters personalities untill you meet them.

I was not rude, but stating the obvious, as for being a santimonious trollop, dear boy do not flatter yourself. If Ii ridicule other people, it is they who look ridiculous, but I am sure you are only too well aware of that by your post.
I amy look ridiculous, but at least I KNOW what I am am and I am willing to admit to it.

Then of course you have people that really seem to be communicating to themsleves and have seem to have totally lost what the thread is about. Sorry don't we have a debate section?

I will make an effort to try to make that my last wise crack for the month. I know I'm over my qouta this month.

I do not intend to get in a slanging match with you, but, as I said before, your attempts to ridicule or belittle others, only reflects upon you.

"whatever" yes you are right you are the most verbose person on this forum,, your command of the english language has got us all reading in awe... seems to me you are more interested in writing the words and trying to sound intelligent than what you are actually saying....
Your original objection was that you took umbage to the fact that people take the p1ss and this being the "norm".... Pardon me for pointing to the obvious!!! But isnt that exactly what you have tried to do to me and others in every one of your postings on this subject???
Like i said before a classic stone thrower you are...
