Night Market DVD stalls closed?
Can anyone tell us why not just one but all the DVD stalls are sometimes closed for a week and then re-open ?
I know in Bkk, while George W was in town, they shut all pirating activity down.
Now, it's all back to business as usual.
When I say 'shut down', it means the police informed the vendors to close down for awhile, and then told them when they could open up again.
There may have been a few "sacrificial lambs" in some staged raids, if they happened at all.
But, you see, according to the "official government line", "there is no pirating going on in Thailand anymore. It's been cleaned up long ago." Therefore, how can there be a raid? What is there to raid?

Just maybe they are busy copying in order to fill up their stocks again, or they have had a nod, some are good some are bad copies.
