She not stupid...i reckon she is probably only renting the bar, and has a healthy balance in the bank...bet she knows her mug is on display on here by now.

So where is this bar ? I'm back in UT for Xmas & NY and want to make sure this 'woman' gets none of my trade. I think it would be good if we (fallangs) stuck together when this sort of thing happens and
boycotted the place in question.

I've just been explaining this story to my girlfriend. The first question she asked was, "how long had they been together before they get married?" I said, 3 weeks. She can't stop laughing. :D
Sorry, shouldn't make light of a sad story. Think this thread should be "pinned" on the forum as a warning.

Opposite side of the road from Day & Night directly opposite the hair dressers/bike rental place - heading to the bottom of the road away from Irish Clock/Top Mansion.
Smallish place raised up above street level (you have to go up half a dozen steps to reach it) couple of tables outside overlooking the road.
I would imagine that Pla & Jerome were leasing it - they actually modified it to make it a bar. I have no idea about the finances but I do know that a while ago a Thai offer of 1,000,000 for Bar Code would have certainly got it & that must have 4 times the bar area in the same road.

Heartly welcome by the family who was meeting him in Bangkok
The Land Of (False) smiles in this case....a hearty welcome by a family(and hangers on) that knew what the score was.

I know where your girfriend's coming from but I still feel sorry for the guy. I don't think I'd wish that sort of luck on anyone...luck or lack of judgement?

Are you sure it didn't say 'No-Way' bar...as she scratched off the 'r' to throw any detectives off the scent of her dealings.

This reminds me about their funny thai-anglitt where they pronounces "No-way " and some norwegians also understand this as " go away" ,maybe a good idea for "the next victim(bar-owner) " who wants his dream of life come true : "Go-Away Bar "

sorry

{i cannot imagine many thai men accepting that gracefully and chalking it up to experience

without something happening}

I think I would be more inclined to walk into the bar and when asked "what you like some drink" or whatever, ask where's Mr Norway (the farang owner) - when told he's not here or we don't have, or the owner is a Thai lady, then just say "Oh, nice man" and just walk out again. (I'll come and have a drink with him when he's back, type of thing)

The object of the exercise being that they get no business, and to convey that had Mr Norway been there they would have had lots of customers, (but now they don't).

If that all makes sense! :?

I really like that idea. what's his first name, so we can drop that on her, then walk out.

You want to read about a naive ,ignorant and ''stupid man, read Stickmans interview on this last Sundays column. This guy takes no responsibility for money management or the fact that after 3 weeks ,he married her and made all his financial decisions, now he is broke and alone in Thailand.Poor baby! #-o

We all make mistakes from ignorance, naivity and emotional imbalances, but to put it all on the line,is pitifull!
