Old photos of Udon Thani

I'm looking for old photos taken around the Udon Thani area. I have several saved from various sources over the years and looking for more. Does anyone have any they would like to share or can you recommend any sites? I need them for a then & now page in a future magazine.

Also does anyone have a photo of Erma Massage back in the 60's. I noticed its mentioned on several VFW websites but no photos. It's still there although the weeds have taken hold, I took a shot of it yesterday.

Lee, Why not try the Amphur office.
Tell them you want them for the magazine, they might have someone there who could help or put you in touch with someone at the museam.

Cheers Prenders, last time I looked in the museum they didn't have many old photos, however I heard they've spent a bit of money on it since then so it may be worth checking again.

That picture of Udon Thani Airport looks like Marineville from Gerry Anderson's Stingray.

The Bath and Massage place is the same kind as Sabailand in Pattaya?

Great photos Flatlander, i love the 'new' racing bicycle in the shot.

And check out the one with the drivers and policeman surrounding a car in the middle of the round-a-bout, must of been a slight prang and they are sorting it....

I posted several there a few years ago but I can't find them now. This could be caused by incompetence on my part but I suspect they are victims of the obvious redesign of the site since I last visited, also several years ago. I will try to post them again sometime in case you are still looking. They are from 1969.

Sadly at least two of the independent from the Forum sites that Lee used to "host" pictures have gone bust & so all the pictures that they contained have disappeared into the "ether". If you you use the "Upload attachment", then "Browse" & "Add the file" from your own pc, then the picture will remain for as long as udonmap.com is in existence. There are possibly restrictions on posting pictures this way (size, number). As I said before, Lee has used a couple of "photo hosting" sites that means the restrictions go away - but they are not owned by udonmap & are subject to their terms & conditions - & if they stop trading then your pictures published with them anywhere on the net are lost...

mjohncoady, please try to post the photos again. I remember seeing those old photos of Nong Sung and downtown Udorn, interesting ones.

The photo above of the Charoen brings back memories. Stayed there in 1980 when it looked like that, before the new section was built. Phosri Road carried very little traffic compared to now. Lots of samlors. Our room in back of the hotel looked out over an empty field.

many of the past pics may have been posted on isara site, which is no longer used and much of it was lost by their server, i think.

again, a reminder, geocities will be changing/charging for using there service, so if not paying, all info/post/pics on geocitie site will be removed from their files.
