My German neighbour requires help

Post by bumper » October 4, 2009, 7:44 am

I have a new neighbour, he has a serious problem and he does not speak English. He is very old and confused, he seems to have had an attack. Which seemed from what I can not explain his work to be simple, probably the attack, but I could be very wrong, because I do not speak German.

A few days ago he had an accident on his bicycle. The TPD thought he was drunk because of his medical condition that he does not drink. If any of you think that you can help this guy, I ask you to him. I can not help him, because I can not speak German.

He is not a rider.

If you respond in German please send via pm and I will pass it on to him. :pirate:

Isn't Nobi around, maybe you could pop down to his restaurant?

I'm sure Harry from Harry's Bar speaks German. Bumper, don't you live not far from there?

I'm Dutch but I speak/understand some German.

Don't know what I can do though, is he in hospital?

PM me if there is something I can do. There is a German living here also, a bit further down the road, but don't know if he is on this forum, otherwise I can try to tow him along.

No I live in first homes Harry speaks Dutch, don't know ablout German but I'm sure he knows some, fluent in several languages. Nobi Let me know to bring him to his place. I think what the guys needs more then anything else is some friends that speaks his language. We all needed help when we first came to Udon.

That's probably what it is more then anyhting else. Not much I can do since his English is really limited and my German is zero LOL.

I will get him to Nobi's and get out of the way.

Thanks

Guys :pirate:

Bump, used to be a friendly German guy that lived near the front row at First Homes, rode a Phantom and had an interest in a t-shirt shop at Bo-bay. Think you know this guy but it's been a while so don't know if he still lives there or not.

Another German named Peter lives in Nong Sai. Has a house on the right side as you enter the village. Doesn't speak much English and is quite a character from what I heard from our kinfolk. Ask almost anyone there where he lives. Probably be willing to help a fellow countryman.

Not in Udon right now, so can not help. But I think the guy with the bike in First Home is a french guy, still there in 'front row'. Never saw a german one there.

Maybe that's why Bumper can't communicate with him. Looks like our mate, Nobi, is going to have his work cut out for him then.

 French guy? Well, at least I got the right continent. It might have been a confusing scene when Bump took the friendly Frenchman to see his German neighbor. French, German and Bump trying to communicate with a little bit of Thai thrown in.

OK, Herr Nobi. You're the man then. :D

Hi,

Also there is a German owned bar next to Nobi's going by the name of Erwins. He also has a guesthouse in Udon.

Just another option.

Well I got him together with the neighbor and I was amazed. All of sudden I wasn't worried about him any longer, it was simply a language barrier he had to really think and speak slowly trying to use English. In German he is sharp as a tack. Published Author with over 200 books.

I feel much better now, thanks for all your help guys. :pirate:

Nice to hear a 'good news story' once in a while bumper.
Kudos to you for sticking with it & finding him some one he can talk to in his own language.
Hopefully it (the initial meeting) will give him a widening group of friends!! :D :D

Thanks I have never forgotten what it was like coming here on my own and not being able to understand what was going on around me. People helped me so I owe and I pay back when I can. To be honest I was concerned about his health. Now I think he could whip me any day of the week  :pirate:
