Home Cable TV

Post by Aom » June 10, 2010, 6:30 pm

We have had Home Cable TV on at our house and Salon for several years and the service and programmes were good for the cost.

Just recently....in the last few days...the wizards at HOME Cable have removed the ONLY english movie channel and also the South African sports chanels.

I have phoned and emailed the HOME Cable office and given the run around.

Does anyone have any info as to what they are doing?

I know someone else who also phoned them..... They said they were having a revamp and were going to put a new English only movie channel on very soon :^o
Personaly I think they havent paid Mnet in Sth Africa so the subscription has been cancelled? :-$
What happened to channel 61 "Stream"? .... Thats gone aswell and just showing psychodelic screen savers  maybe their computers bust so they can't show all those movies that you can get on the internet for free

We have been in contact with Home Cable, they tell us that the signal for MM1 the only English Film channel came from True Satellite, they have cancelled their agreement with Cable TV as True satellite wants more people to sign up with them. As for another English film channel, don't hold your breath! We are still awaiting for Cable tv to upgrade so we can have the move channels as across the road to us they have over 100 channels and we still have 70 many of which have a bad signal. If True Satellite think that I'm going to pay 3,000 baht or so a month for their rubbish they are totally wrong. [-X

It's not Home Cable. This has been coming for sometime. The SuperSports channels have changed satellites, as of May 31, the new satellite service is only available in the southern african area.

All

I went to speak with the Home Cable people at their oiffice again today (last week also) to complain about the loss of the two movie channels (MNet & Stream). This morning I was told (again) that the "technician" was working on finding another movie channel. I asked how long that would take and was told 2-3 days which is what I was told last week. I reminded the woman that she told me the same thing last week. I asked where the "technician" was and she told me working outside someplace. Realizing this was going nowhere I went to see the owner Khun Virot (or one of the owners) who also happens to own Tool Pro Plus on the ring road. I know Khun Virot and thought he might be able to light a fire under his emplyees. Unfortunately, Khun Virot was out of the country on business but would return next week. His assistant Khun Mem (formerly of AUA) contacted the staff at Home Cable and was told they had substituted two new stations - Universal & Sci Fi. I told Khun Mem that was nonsense as both those stations have been on the cable for quite some time now.

My suggestion to all would be to wait until Khun Virot returns from his business trip and pay him a visit. He speaks very good english and I'm sure would be interested in knowing what his customers think of his cable services.

BTW: Does anyone have any experience with the other cable company here in Udon - UD Cable?

I had UD Cable 7 or 8 years ago. They provided a channel line up on paper that looked better than Home Cable so I signed up with them. The paper line up was not what was on the cable. It had less than 1/2 of the stuff I was interested in. I had already paid for one month and the hook up. Never paid them any more.

Had home cable installed when UD cut me off.

My wife called Home cable today. Why have they not been showing the F1 ! Answer is that the service from the USA has been cancelled.

We also called Udon Cable, they do not show F1, called PSI, do not show F1.

So does any one know where I can watch the F1 live in Udon apart from buying UBC as I do not care about football.

thanks

Hi Mike - I had Udon cable a while back. Problem I found was that channels disappeared or were moved often, but I could live with that. But what would get me was while watching something (movie) all of a sudden someone would start changing the channel, if you were lucky after 15 or 20 mins, they would return to the movie, so that you could see the end.

The reason I disconnected was mainly because of the snow, they came out and fixed it a few times, but it would not last. The cable they ran in the soi was the same size as you use in the house, so I gave up.

Now Home Cable is another story. I had called them first and found that their service people were nasty, or maybe I was nasty. The problem was that they refused to run the cable to the other side of my house, where everything is wired. Didn't have that problem with Udon Cable. After I had quit UC, I noticed this heavy cable wire had been installed in the soi, so checked with someone and found out it was Home Cable, so had them send over the bill collector when he came by, talk with him and he didn't see a problem with connecting to my wired outlets. But then the service people came, same problem. So now I watch my TV on the computer, tv has bunny hears.

Malc don't quote me on this one but after the world cup finishes the 3 S.A Sports channels will return to cable enabling you to watch F1 :D

Hi,
Just reading through these posts for the first time.
Breadman. Don't know why you think True will cost you over 3,000B a month. I got the gold package, all the sport etc. and all that I want to watch, but the cartoons the children put on in the morning before going to school are driving me mad, approximately 1600B a month. When I got mine they had only one package above this, Platinum at about 400B more, 2,000B. They have now introduced a new package called gold plus. Less than 2,000B. The gold will give you all the sports and most of the things you want. As to the World cup, good luck to both teams in the final, you have to pay for and are in HD. on ch.111. This seems the norm. now throughout the world, when you want to watch a one of thing they screw you for it. Also got PSI but most of their channels are on True. So the kids have that in their bedrooms.
Go down to the True shop and they will give you the details of each package. My installation was free.
Cheers Doug.

Can anyone advise if the Australia Network is back on with Home Cable.

Like others, if the Super sports isnt on, and the above programme, I wont renew in 3 weeks.
