just back from center point and the management of udon town have closed all access to the four lanes of the road from prajak to posi road. they have also put a barrier across half the out bound lane on posi road by the railway.

Yes, they are sitting up for the big Unusally "CountDOWN" tonight 31 Dec 2010, stay aware and alert if you attend, just a few nights ago there were a shooting(some kill(Thai/Thai) there we saw this on Home Cable NEWS.

Read in The Nation that TAT is sponsoring a few big countdowns to the new year around the country, and Udon Town was listed as one of them, so I would think it will be very busy there.

Always funny to see clueless guys...you have wifes, why not ask them? They would tell you that there will be the fireworks of the year with about 2,000 rockets going up at midnight. Everybody is on its way to see that. I think the whole area will be a big traffic desaster, and even on a motorcycle you will have problems to come near.

Udonthani 1st Difference Countdown 2011 @ UD Town on December 31, 2553 beginning at 6:00 p.m. to 02:00 pm starting with the show "Festival happy E - Sarn Happy Festival". There'll be a human wave (I suspect) on the long road in front of the center by the expected hundred and fifty thousand people. There'll be a giant clock on the "Count Down Wall" along with singing and greeting the new year. The fireworks display is supposed to include 2011 shots. Concerts include artists from Laos, Vietnam and Thailand, including Black Jack offense Hockey BB Black Vanilla, Royal Chicken and Catalog Contact Central time from Thailand and The Mas (the mask) Super One (Super Day). For those who want their picture taken, there'll be a Happy Rabbit photo hug opportunity (expect looong lines). For those who aren't into crowds, you can watch the excitement on Cable TV and Channel MCOT 1 (UBC 98).

As I'm an amateur at this stuff, don't take it out on me if this is scheduled for a different date at a different time at a different place.

TIT again: we parked the car at the chinese wat, no problem to arrive in UD Town, not too many people, and the 2,000 rockets - just a rumour, it seems...
