To set the record straight

Post by rogerdoger » January 20, 2011, 12:03 am

Just to set the record straight here.
I have been accused of being a troll, had a number of abusive PMs sent to me, and been abused.
Look, I had a hard time, losing someone precious to me, 2 people precious to me, around whom I had made many plans and even career choices, and it hit me harder than I realised. I drank a lot of beer and went through the whole grieving routine. OK, I said a few inappropriate things, but f### me, how people come out of the woodwork, people who had never contributed to the threads until they saw their chance to be an armchair critic, really amazes me. It is actually a form of bullying, but then again most who do it lived and worked in an era where that was acceptable. You know, for a board which pretends to display such high moral standards, I can be called names, by pm told I am a ----- and I should go to Pattaya and masturbate + not come to Thailand, and have someone request that my thread, which brought out many stories be deleted. Really, the double standards are incredible.
I will be in Udon soon, and I’ll be staying at the Irish Clock, and if anyone wants to pop in and tell me to my face what they think of me, they will be welcome, assuming they can get their bathchairs up the steps.
I doubt I will get many takers though, because cowards and bullies generally hide in the background, take a cheap shot and then hide again, internet keyboard warriors are even worse.
I have no doubt that this thread will be deleted along with me, and to be honest I am not bothered. I encountered a number of genuinely nice posters here with stories to tell, who made me feel a lot better about myself, and I hope they do not ever get deterred by the keyboard warriors who spring up every now and then to stick the boot in when a man is down.
This board is a fantastic source of information, and I will use it long after I am deleted, it’s just a pity I can’t give anything back.

Life is tough sometimes, but learn to take it easy and bounce back.

Do not let answers to questions you pose upset you. It really isn't worth it.

Try to avoid inflammatory statements, the self-pity and wild assertions, and, I think, there will be less criticism.

No-one is out to get you so try not to be paranoid.

In the end, it's up to you.

I have bounced back from more things than you can imagine, seriously, you have no idea the things I have dealt with. It actually doesn't bother me what people say about me, what bothers me is that I cannot reply to them.

I do not suffer fools gladly, never have, never will. I don't see why I can't post inflammatory statements. JFC, most of the guys who post here are old enough to collect their pension, so if they cannot take a wee bit of reality then it is time to check out. If you think what I have posted is inflammatory, seriously, you must be Victorian Dad from Viz, because in the big, real world, that is nothing.

I made no wild assertions. You see, you are trying to sound clever by making that statement. I made a series of statements, backed up by facts I had previously posted, but then you didn't read those, like I already pointed out to you.

I am not paranoid, but it doesn't take a blind man in a room full of ---- to realise that there are certain posters here who are favourites and who can go that bit overboard, when those who are not cannot.

Sure as banned is banned, if I pm'd someone and told them they were a ----- and should go to pattaya and masturbate and not go to Thailand at all, I would be banned, yet I got that very same PM and nothing will happen.

I don't care if you ---- on my head from 20,000 feet, I can take anything I get and dish it out, only I am not allowed to dish it out. That is why it is bulllying, nothing more sure, cowards sticking it in, knowing they will have the full protection of mods and admin, when a simple response will be dealt with by deletion.

If you seriously think I cannot deal with people like you and the other baby bullies with simple words, then you are very much mistaken, but I am afraid that the first sentence would probably lead to a thromby. However, I am holding back in the 1/10000000000 chance that there may be some justice on this board and I can make some helpful posts, but I doubt that justice will prevail.

Thanks for the input from my posts. I appreciate your knowledge and the info from others that answered my questions.

You have my sympathy for your recent breakup with your girlfriend. Been there, done that. The world will still turn so sit back, catch your breath and climb back on. You've got tickets to Thailand. Not too shabby.

I think it might be time to draw that line now Roger, people do relate to what your going through, people have said they`ve gone through similar things, also people have no doubt gone through alot worse! Take a chill pill man!

Rogerdoger

The mods appear to have given you the benefit of the doubt. Life in general and l guess forum life specifically is about choice and consequence. The opportunity exists for you to develop threads and to respond to other threads, however if you choose to attack the integrity of other posters, demean others in a general sense due to their age and or lack of mobility etc l guess you are making your choice and therefore will need to be manly enough to accept the consequence of your actions. Your assumption that the passing of generations has brought an era where personal vitriolic attack is acceptable social albeit internet conduct is wrong in every respect. If the need to still attack the posters on this forum is paramount in your mind there are other forums that may well accept your more provocative style. What choice are you going to make Rogerdoger?

I may have thought myself that a couple of your posts were ott Rodge but to get a pm telling you to mb and go to pattaya, well it says more about the person who sent the PM than yourself. I do feel your pain as most people who are on this board have gone through what you are going through and maybe will again in the future. I too have had many disagreements on here from people who are just out to start arguements. Most of the time its just better to let it go. Indeed the condecending post from TT above says alot about SOME of the people on here, but not all.

You helped me with my back on dosages of pills etc and Im grateful for that. I, personally wouldnt like to see you stop using the board as you do seem to have alot to add. Maybe though, just tone things down a tad and for God's sake HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR YOUR ELDERS! lol!

I agree with those that said there is a lot of crap on this board. TT's and LYM's posts are perfect examples of this. Don't worry about it Roger. Did someone really tell you to go to Pattaya? Seriously, I would name that person.

OT just fell over the back of his chair with laughter after reading through this thread.
There is an abundence of WFB's, so there is no need to get upset when you get dumped by one, move on, it'll work out.

Roger, you may or may not be aware that about 6-8 weeks ago someone posted a very similar topic to yours. It turned out this guy was 100% troll and his thread was locked. Therefore the timing of your thread might have been unfortunate and UM members may have been sceptical about the sincerity of your thread, especially after the other thread you started was deleted for being inappropriate.

I don't want to change the subject but what's a troll? I've seen it posted elsewhere.

TROLL - (Scandanavian folklore) a supernatural creature (either a dwarf or a giant) that is supposed to live in caves or in the mountains

TROLL - someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

Take your pick,

B52

Guys,

Id given my e-mail to Roger a while ago after he had posted something to help me out. He just send me a mail telling me he's been banned. He wanted me to say thanks to you for your comments and support given to him by those of you who had helped him on his short tenure here. Ive no idea why he was banned as he didnt tell me and I havnt been on here since this morning.

Cheers
