Where was the news on the new ratings downunder? Who is the next best and how far have England fallen.........
Is good news to see we are back where we belong. The aussie team enjoys trying to be knocked off the top. Like any sport other teams will lift to try and knock you off which lends itself to tougher contests and tactics.

Surprisingly, the Poms are still as high as 3rd.

It's probably not wise to wind others up too much downunder. Australia might not be number 1 for too long. Nevertheless they've had a fabulous run lately and it's the most prized title in world cricket.

GT93, He could have said something good about a fantastic achievement by the Aussies considering the beating the Poms gave us England last year, or maybe he was trying to be funny. Give back what you receive.

Yes, unfortunately the England cricket team has been populated by little girls playing Rounders rules for the past few months but I'm sure things will be sorted out soon. We may scour the former colonies for players with a tenuous English link to bolster our team. E.g. His Granny's Yorkshire Terrier had a father who came from Scunthorpe - he qualifies for the England team.downunder wrote:Australia are back on top as the Worlds Number One Test Cricket Nation =D> =D>
Well done Australia. =D>

We have other strategies downunder to choose but in this context your give back what you receive isn't paux pas of the day.
Earnest is giving away team secrets now. This might be England's fightback strategy. A couple of Aussies or South Africans might soon be playing for England.
I'd like cricket to clean up its act on the field and for there to be less sledging and hijinks. I find much of it a turn off. As current world champs it would be nice to see Australia leading the way. I think it's in the best interests of the game. I long for an Australian captain who has the same view. Some of your past captains have kept the hotheads more in line. I'm not suggesting it's just Australia who is the problem.
I believed all the hype before the Ashes series in Australia and I think I put about $20 on England winning the series. I sure misread that. I didn't realize they were girls playing rounders.

Well, I think the Aussies have topped the world in swimming a few times, which is an all-world sport. In fact, there aren't many of these sports are there? Golf would be another if you accept it as a real sport. What else is there? Soccer (football) and that's about it. Fishing?!? But, not too many gold medals are handed out for that.
We make our world significant by the courage of our questions and by the depths of our answers.
