Accurate info on movies in Udon

Post by BKKSTAN » December 14, 2006, 10:52 am

:) If you want accurate info on movies in Udon, use Majorcineplex.com,not movieseers.com!!The info on movieseers.com is not always accurate regarding the time of the movie and whether it is in English or not, although today it is accurate!!
Majorcineplex.com has the correct info!
English soundtrack movie playing today is Eragon,1215,1435,1655,1915,2135.

Thanks for the link Stan. It's just a shame the site has limited English. I would like to check out CASINO ROYALE but I can't work out the times and days.

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0449010/

a good link about the movies themselves, usually has a score, best of 10, 7.5/10, but not enough reviews for this movie yet. but gives you a decent idea if you might like it.

I don't want to take credit for the link as someone else on the forum posted it a while back!I just wanted everyone to know that it gives the accurate info versus Movieseers that has always been wrong ,when I checked, until this week.
I've made a couple of trips from NK to see movies that were supposed to be in English that were not and the times were always wrong!

You really don't need to speak Thai to see Casino Royal in Thai. It is good enough that the dialogue is just noise in any language. I just go to the Thai language movies with my wife, pick up a few new words and enjoy the odd flavored popcorn. The new Thai Army basic training movie is a hoot. I understand more than I speak and it shocks her when I laugh at jokes I really should not be able to understand. Have to be careful on that one.

I would like to watch Casino Royale but the website is in Thai language only. It's handy if you have a Thai partner to translate for you, but I'm on my tod. Could someone translate for me? I just want to know the showtimes and days.

At the Mall, there is a big multiscreened sign at the theatres on the top floor. Most films start at 11-11:30 and play in rotation throughout the day. We just go, check the schedule and decide whether to see a show immediatly or eat first. It's kind of a sloppy approach but my time schedule is not that critical that I can not afford to spend an hour walking the mall or eating. Sorry not to be of help with the website. No Thai reading ability and the wife is at school.

Thanks, I know the mall has the information on the top and bottom floors but it would be so much easier to get the times from a website. The times are changed daily and I've been many times only to find out the film has been canceled or moved.

Thanks anyway but I'll give it a miss, I'd prefer to see it in English. Although I must admit those Thai voice overs are very funny.

Lee,if you go to the top of the page, you will see three boxes. The third box,in English says ''CHECK IT''.The first box ,in Thai says''CHOOSE CITY'',second box,in Thai says ''SELECT MOVIE''!You will see the cities and movies in both Thai and English when you click the boxes.
You scroll down to Udonthani in box one, select Casino Royale and click ''CHECK IT''.You will get no times because it is finished playing in Udon!
If you don't select a movie by skipping box #2,but only click on UDONTHANI in box#1,then click CHECK IT,you will get the entire menu of movies and times for Udon!

That's what I was doing, however I think I selected all cinemas by accident which gave me a list of times that Casino Royale was showing at all locations with the headers in Thai.

It doesn't look like much is playing at Udon at the moment. :(

 Know what you mean, but English movies are not shown often,so I go for novelty!I have had some mild surprises though, except the stories don't usually hold my interest for very long.I wanted to see Departed and De ja vue,but they didn't have them in English!
I always wonder how they choose which film to show in English. They seemingly always pick the non-blockbuster movie

That's true Stan, just the other day here in Hua Hin I went to see the new James Bond flick.
Made it interesting seeing England's best speaking Thai all the way through the movie..action scenes not bad too!
