Soldier is now settling in to his new home. I'm keeping him in his cage for now as he seems to like the security of it. It also stops him dragging his stump around on the ground. He's also had a test drive in his new cart.

A big thanks to Barney for the cage and to Downunder for the wheels.

No worries Nick, glad he is comfortable.

Soldier looks more at home than when I was at times in the doghouse. :guiness: :fryingpan:

Soldier is still settling in to his new home. It's all new and a bit scary for him after being at the vets for so long. Last night we put him in the back room as the mosquitos were swarming all over him. Will have to think of a solution for that.

I've tried him in his wheelchair a couple of times, but he's a bit shakey on his front legs. He hasn't walked much for at least a month so he has to build up some strength in his 2 remaining legs. I will try him again today and take a photo.

Thanks again guys

Nick

Perhaps a mosquito net over the cage. If outside burning one or two of those insect coils might help.

Soldier had a few steps with his wheels today. A few steps forward, a few back, then round in a circle. I'll have to take a video when he's up and running.

Hi mate.

Yes I moved him forward originally but he was very uncomfortable with a lot his of weight over his front legs, so I moved his rear end back over the wheels (like in the picture) and he has more support from the cart - then he was able to walk around easily.

Dropped in to see Soldier today ........for those not familier hes the dog saved by Nick of AUA fame and now minus his back legs ....
an update , hes looking great what a diamond of a dog even with all hes been thru a super temprement and real fighter and IMO well worth all the time n effort put in to keep him alive and on the move ...he loves his new Downunder cart ...i reckon if he was a human he would be Whinston Churchill and obviously A Scunthorpe Utd Fan ..

Hoping Nick can find the time to post some pics or even a vid of the fella out for a walkies ....
