My boy will be in Udon in few weeks but he's 16. He'll probably be looking for some people to hang out with ( I think thats what the kids of today call it ) rather than trailing around with his mum & dad

Try this place in UD Town. It's crawling with young middle/upper class types in the evenings. Plenty of good photos to sort through on this site.

Well, I have only made friends 25 and up. It's kind of weird. And anyone near my age is thai and very nervous to be around a half thai/american like me... sooo idk. but the clubbings fun. Food is great and the clothing markets save my wallet~ hahahaha

Yeah it's pretty hard to find friends in Udon of that age.
I'm 25 and have friends within our age group.
I'm also half aussie, and I have another friend who is half belgian (shes 24).

Most of our Thai friends are pretty confident and fun.

So if your interested, next Friday my girls and I are having a girls day/night- your welcome to join.
I dont know what the forum rules are about giving phone numbers or line IDs... ? Maybe you'd need to DM/ PM me?

Or we can set a place and day to meet?

There is a large club/bar/coffee place, that seems to have a lot of nightlife, on the Udon Thani Ring Road, about 1 km up from the Big C Flyover - on the right side, as you head towards Homeplus and Nong Khai. Haven't been in side but you can hear the music from the ring road, when you drive buy.

There are several smaller club/bars on the Udon Thani Ring Road, about 500m down from Thaiwasadu, heading towards the train tracks. Cross the tracks and its about 1oo meters further on, on the ring road, on opposite side to Thaiwasadu. I have been in them a few times, 2 years back and the people were generally younger. Certainly younger than me. It had a band. I still see lots af cars parked out front on Friday/Saturday nights

When I was younger and in a town where I didn't know anyone I would go to the local colleges or university and hang out around campus with a sketch pad. Smiling and saying hello a lot helps
