Thank you for your answer, but I think for 2 weeks maybe it is better to rent in a shop or buy ....
An old bicycle is already OK for me.
Are there bicycle shop near trainstation or Central Plaza ?

The green rental bikes are located in a number of places around town. Nong Prajak Park opposite the bridge is one location. i believe there is another one close to Good Everything Restaurant just up the street from the Udon General Hospital.

They have a bike rental outside the front of central plaza..on the footpath.
Re: Rent a bicylce in UD
A word to the wise, Udon is not built to accommodate bicycles very well, even on the designated blue paths.
Re: Rent a bicylce in UD
Very much agree with this comment, you are risking life and limb contemplating using a bicycle in Udon. However, if you decide to do so, there is a bicycle shop, with an excellent English speaking owner, just down the road from Central. Turn right outside Central and they are just before the traffic lights, shop on left hand side of road, opposite a small hotel and the PTT service station.
Re: Rent a bicylce in UD
The shop you describe does not rent bicycles but they do sell and service them. I know the shop well. The owner's name is Peter and yes he speaks excellent English.
I've been cycling in and around Udon and far beyond to the surrounding countries for about 12 years now with only 1 mishap when a motorbike driven by a 14 y/o ran into my rear wheel in Aranyaprathet. A quick conversation with mommy and daddy solved the problem in lieu of a visit to the local cop shop. I normally cycle everyday around Udon without any real problems to speak of. Vehicle drivers normally give us cyclists lots of room probably because we move slowly and do not ride erratically like the local idiots on their motorbikes.
I strongly urge anyone wishing to enjoy the real sights and sounds to hop on a bicycle and see what it's all about. You can safely ride around Nong Prajak Park to begin with until you feel comfortable on the bike.

I gave the OP the shop mentioned above as he stated that he might “buy’ an old bicycle, if renting was not available.fdimike wrote: ↑December 13, 2017, 1:37 pmThe shop you describe does not rent bicycles but they do sell and service them.
