home brew
Greetings, Does anyone have experience brewing their own beer here in los? Is there any law against brewing your own beer or wine for you personal consumption? Are there any home brewers out there who are willing to share their experiences, brewing technology, etc. Please direct my inquiry if the topic exists elsewhere on the site. Thank you!

Going back 3 years in a discussion about tax on beer http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/b ... 13532.html I don't think anything has changed.writemotive wrote:Greetings, Does anyone have experience brewing their own beer here in los? Our Norwegien members here are the experts in home brewing.
I've been to Norway and seen the distilleries many people have in their basements.
Superb pieces of kit, all made out of stainless steel, you could buy the "flavourings" in any supermarket.

Home brew is aleady prevelant in rural areas of los ,,,,,,,,, called sator , in the right dosage causes a feeling of well being , illucinations , and incontinence followed by trying to bang your mum in law and sleeping with the chickens on the farm ,,,,,,,, gerrrrrrreat and dead cheap as well.

A friend of mine made some great ale in Korea but he bought the mix from a seller of brewing supplies (legal in Korea). I was wondering if something like this existed in Udon or greater Thailand. The local beer in Korea is similar to what's available in Thailand but the quality of the home brewed beer was comparable to what you can buy on tap for 180 baht a pint in Udon but a fraction of the cost. Just wondered...thanks.

Thanks truebrit for the link back to the tax hike posts. There it is mentioned that brewing acoholic beverages (without a license) is against Thai Law, even for personal consumption, so I guess that precludes homebrewing in general. shucks...

Yes home brew is illegal in LOS but……..
Every time I get dragged out to visit the in-laws (90 klic out of Udon) I always ensure that a visit to the grandmamma is on the cards as she always shares a bottle of her “medicine :-" ” that she makes" , at the bottom of the garden with me and the “boss” has to drive home with me sometimes sprawled out in the back of the pickup…
I just love the laws of Thailand
