Anybody tried mailing anything to Australia? How did it go?

I want to send some things to a friend in Australia but I understand that international mail is not working well because of the lack of passenger flights between countries.

Having looked around for a while it seems that courier services are working between here and Australia but I cannot tell whether regular mail is up and running to Australia.

My question is: Is it likely that mail sent to Australia from Udon would arrive at its Melbourne area within a few weeks?

I tried to mail a box to Oz this week, post office would not take it, said Oz not accepting mail from internationals.

Not sure what the system is with mail deliveries.
I was sent a recorded delivery,letter post from UK.
After a few weeks I tracked the letter.
