The promised completion date is 26 July.....piece of cake
50/50 ...touch n go if twill be done by 26th July ,possibly the road completed but the paths and dog walking zone a while later.. the easy quick bits are all done but its slowed up now at the outer lanes on both sides...
Leccy boys back today putting in the final new pole then we have been informed no electric tomorrow 9am to 5pm so DM will be out doing all his weekly shopping and zumba class etc after a Gallery brekkie..
** Dunno how far this Electric outage will spread and which areas will effect its obviously a major job moving all the spaghetti form old posts to the new.
Very few traffic hold ups throughout the whole project but traffic has been lessened by covid regs and school closures and the weather relatively kind.

Morning Alfie ..Diet going well .. for the most part eating healthily and staying off the beer which is the hardest pill to swallow.
The AP/RR intersection project does include new pathways and a paved area simialr to the area outside the airport ...i have designated this as a dog walking zone and requested pop bins to be situated there.. should be within the budget which i believe was 26 mil bt (maybe Mr Parrot can confirm from the blue sign image)
One thing for sure when completed vehicle speed will increase on the inbound side as no traffic lights ... the lights are only for the right turn into the airport expressway ... cars will be flying at full speed on the new cambered Le Mans style curve and it will get messy .. noise will increase for sure and if too excessive DM will be moving.
Niggly ...I plan to start a countdown to completion clock nearer the time ..

Is there any sort of filter-lane for people coming out of your parking lot or will there be some frequent rear-ending?
You'll enjoy that, no?

Remains to be seen if theres a slip lane or filter into n outta the car park .. dunno if one or 2 entrances.. years back a 7/11 in the carpark was mooted but turned down by the highways people as entrance too close to the junction and classed as dangerous pulling out .. maybe a slip lane will mean a re application by the owner for the 7 ... ?? .. doubt it as the traffic speed will be way faster and yes hard rear end bashing will be frequent .. cant beat a nudge in the back end to get pulses racing ..and i will be on had doing the pics ... eh Tam
BACK IN THE REAL WORLD ... there must be 50 plus on site this morning .. at least 6 are working .. lots of machines and deliveries of more smaller drains and paving slabs .. (for the dog walking zone , no poo bins tho)

Fruit market very quiet & I notice the guard has given up temperature checking upon entering in favour of playing with his phone.
Up to the contra flow u turn & no queue at all, straight round & back towards the ring road

Something blocking the contra flow then?
Next to no traffic going down to the bridge & I spun it round underneath to go in Big C without pausing

They haven't had a guard doing temperature checking for weeks.

Yeah, I haven’t been for weeks. Even the lottery seller outside Mr DIY asked if I’d been okay

Hoping for sensible monitoring and any form of restrictions may be imposed but NEVER policed in a meaningful way , it will take many accidents and a few deaths for action I suspect judging by other notorious junctions around this city

Not a lot of traffic again on northbound Nittayo Road around 2pm.
This time Makro, through the contra flow (a little short cut past De Princess), through the second bit, left just before the railway & over to Thahan Road & southbound home.
Don’t think I went through any of the notorious junctions so didn’t witness any accidents or deaths on this particular trip

I appreciate there are a few areas in town undergoing construction.......but the reality is......no school, covid fears, no traffic. Anywhere in town. I'd say, be thankful that the ring road construction projects are taking place now......rather than when businesses/schools/travel is back to normal. That said, keep those updates coming on the ring road progress.
