Fox on udon Cable

Post by wokkawombat » June 25, 2007, 5:27 pm

Up until a week ago channel 12 was Fox on my Udon setup. Fox has now dissapeared and been replaced with CNN. Not much of a difference in my opinion but has anyone else had this happen.

I have Udon Home Cable, but nothing has changed, I have Fox on channel 61 here. I also have BBC on channel 26.

Yes - Faux is gone from Udon Cable.

Don't see where CNN and Faux really have that much in common. At least on CNN there is a lot more news being reported rather than political posturing with a definite far right leaning.

Yeah - in that respect - not any different than Faux News.

At least CNN shows stuff from around the world - unlike Faux.

have to agree with that, but I don't know if Fox really wants to give news from around the world.

I don't think that the market for international news exists in America. Americans seem to be interested only in America and what might - in the news editors opinions - at some point in time impact America.

The problem with Faux News over here is that we get the night time programming over here during the day. Hence we have O'Reilly x 3 each day, Hannity and Greta x 2 each day, etc. The only bright spot has been Red Eye at 1:30 PM every day. In other words - mostly far right propaganda (O'Reilly and Hannity) and US Crime News and such with Greta. Week-ends aren't much better...

Nope. Enjoy the relief from Faux now with the CNN programming. Only wish that they could get their sound in sync with the video...

I sometimes watch Fox News on Home Cable (Chan 61) merely for its sheer entertainment value and don't necessarily agree with all espoused by their pundits! Sometimes CNN can be dull and :sleepy:!! Then again, the Disney channel is only a click away (Chan 62 on Home)!!!

If I want to be influenced in thinking correct politically, I go to the forums, i.e. thaivisa or udonmap, of course!

Just my own not-so-humble opinion but we all have those! :-k

Perhaps it is high time for the American public to change their TV channel or find a different way to follow American and World politics.
Just read about this poll in Newsweek:

[quote]Even today, more than four years into the war in Iraq, as many as four in ten Americans (41 percent) still believe Saddam Hussein

Doubtful that you will find similar results in Europe. Most Europeans were totally against the Iraq invasion - and have remained adamantly opposed to it...

As for the 41% that still believe - those could be the rabid Faux News watchers...

Fox News

Post by FrazeeDK » June 26, 2007, 9:56 pm

I have a very low opinion of FOX News as quite frankly there isn't much news.. Every burp of the Hollywood social scene merits hours of in-depth reporting.. Every wacko court case is highlighted for lenghthy periods by Greta Van Susteren.. O'Reilly is OK, Hannity and Colmes entertaining, even the little info-bits on medical and other things pretty good. BUT, the overrding gossipy crapola discussed over-rides the good stuff.. Of the big news media, I'd rather watch BBC even with it's somewhat skewed viewpoint as it focuses on NEWS from around the world rather than the small-minded doofus stuff that FOX does.

Hey, and I'm considered conservative!!

The only time I watched Fox in the past and CNN in the future is when Australia network (ABC Asia) is off the air. Udon Cable does not have a card to broadcast some programmes. Australia Network gives good news coverage both local and world wide and without so called personalities who think they are the news.

All because they are not politicaly correct, is the ONLY reason foxnews has been dubbed rightwing.
hilariuos, I wonder when people see they are being duped nothing wrong with fox.
why do you think tons of websites around just to bash fox, they are leading in viewers on top and the regular stupid media has all brainwashed everyone, makes me sick.

I watch ALL of them, but this fox thing is a bunch of far left liberals whipping people up in a frenzy, just because they are not in lockstep with what they WANT to hear,
thats all it is.

why did it disappear then?, kinda odd ay? well I know why, people are affraid of the truth, affraid of different FACTS that go against what they been told elseware.

I hate to break it to you, but simply put, the "Fair and balanced" coverage on Faux is neither. While they lean heavily to the right, it is clear that other outlets lean the other way.

Life, itself, is not fair and balanced.
