Mrs tam advises that the school has been in touch with her to approve the oldest lads vaccination. I have given the nod but we'll see if Isaan gets any of the "eight million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, approved for inoculation in young people, are due to arrive next month" mentioned in the Bangkok Post article cited by Doodoo.

According to the link provided in another thread, Anutin had declared that all of the first shots for teachers and students will be Sinovac.

That seems to be for the general population Tam. They have been pretty specific that 12-18 year old's will be getting Pfizer.

Tam

Read on and it states "The government decided to use the Sinovac vaccine as the first dose and the vaccine made by AstraZeneca as the second dose so that people can be fully vaccinated sooner, "

Onwards and upwards

Tam
We received the parental consent papers for daughters vaccinations today. Specifically Pfizer mentioned and no other manufacturer. Looks like first jabs are next week.

Data published by the Department for Education on Tuesday showed more than 100,000 pupils were off school with a confirmed or likely case of coronavirus last week, up from 82,000 in the week before term ended for the summer holiday.

AH I see the difference 1) off school where mine are 2) people in Hospital

But 100,000 is a good number as a year ago it was 400,000. SO the UK is coming along well due to education and vaccines

Good to see the Guardian are now quoting numbers, 400,000 off school rather than 95% of all pupils are still in school. Ah, the Guardian, the bastion of truth, accurate reporting and non biased opinion.

Our (BKK) students finished online exams on Tuesday (5 Oct) and started their end of semester holiday immediately. They received their first Pfizer jabs over the next two days at a local private hospital. On Thursday teachers were told that the five month work-from-home gig was over, and to report for duty at the school on Monday morning. Accordingly, I have driven down to BKK today with wifie as company. Opening the door of my room for the first time in five months, we got the anticipated result - dust everywhere and widespread mildew. My little champion attacked it with fervour, and after several hours hard work the place is livable again. The fridge has been running the whole time, so the good news is that I have some cold beer tonight. The big surprise though - two carrots and two onions in the vegie crisper are in perfect condition after all this time; just as fresh as the day I bought them at the market. Tomatoes didn't fare so well though. Now to the important bit - the school has advised both teachers and students that second semester will commence with face to face classes on 1 November. I understand this is in line with what is proposed for the local school in our village (Ban Phue District).

Anyone know what's going on with school reopenings in Udon? There is very little communication. While at Don Bosco yesterday, I found out that Nov 1 is far from certain. That's next week! No leadership.
