Thai Logic

Post by Fred the Farmer » August 25, 2007, 10:25 am

I must commend the city coucillors and government of Thailand for their ability to stop terrorism in its major citites.

Thailand has been able to prove that by removing all public rubbish bins in around Bangkok, terrorists have been stumped unable to find suitable places to set bombs off.

Thailand will be sending a delegation to Iraq to implement the latest revelation on the 'Fight against 'Terror'

I think this logic has been applied to the Charoensri shopping complex too, I've never been able to find one when I have rubbish to get rid of. :?

A good topic... I'm sure there is so much that baffles us here and we scratch our head thinking, "WTF!" :? :? :?

If you want to know "WTF"

Are you telling me you find it quite a normal measure to remove all rubbish bins as a prevention against bombings?

No I didn't mean anything in relation to your rubbish bins post! I mean day to day there are many times when Thai logic (or lack of it) baffles me. And I was just having this discussion about 3 days ago with a restaurant owner here and we were exchanging stories about it.

Lets see....if they don't remove the rubbish bins and some dick-head puts an explosive device in one and it goes bang, then won't everyone be saying .." Tutt Tutt" should'nt they have removed those rubbish bins !!

Just a precautionary measure lets face it you can only do so much and it will never be enough and it won't stop scum-bags doing these things,if only it was that easy. !!

Maybe this is the solution, one bin for glass, one for plastic and one for TNT

Thai people do not have logic they dont think they just do.Thats why they seem to do things a few times, when a farang would do it once.

Surely you jest. You proved just the opposite by even saying the above.

But with your feelings of superiority, I am sure you will go far in Thailand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Like Lee's Solution

Have any of you guys been to Israel of flown El Air, then you know about security. Lets hope and pray (or whatever tickles your fancy) that we all do not have to go down the same road of extreme security!!!!

Even now with the tighter security checks at Sarvanabhumi it would still easy to decieve them. That is my worry, you either have to take the "mai pen rai" attitude and just think that if some nutter really wants to let a bomb off, that he is probably going to do a bit of planning of where and when to set it off, and its more or less impossible to stop.

Therefore by only doing part security checks, and not the whole hog. Everyones time is being wasted.

Its a case of all or nothing, and nothing inbetween will not work effectively!! :(

IMO,the Thai police are pretty good at ''profiling'' combined with a multitude of road checks, they have pretty much contained the Southern insurgency!

I believe the few small explosion outside the Southern Provinces has been the result of the ''Thaksin''power faction versus the other Elitists vying for central power and control!
