The local farang teacher says there is good French wine to be had in Laos and you can pop over on Saturdays and Tuesdays to get it at the temporary checkpoint at Phon Phisai.150 Baht a bottle. The boat is 20 Baht each way and there is also a fee of 30 Baht i believe for immigration. Now if I can time it right, a nice bottle of wine.
