One point you might want to realise is that this forum was not designed with just you in mind, it is for all of us.

Udonmap is available to everyone with all of their different views and ideas too that run the gauntlet from U.S. politics to older men lusting after 18-year old girls to various kinds of pickles, to the Premiership,to the best and worst of farang fare and farang behaviour in Udon and tons of interesting stuff on Udon Thani city and province and Thailand too. How fortunate we are that this site exists.

You are always welcome to build your own web site, and limit the posts that satisfy you alone, but this one seems to be just fine the way it is.
I never thought I had a bad temper. I am quite the opposite... As I've said I love the easy going way of life here. I think you may have missed something on this site in the past few days/weeks. The non-US members have grown tired of a different thread created for Barack Obama instead of a coverall thread to monitor his every word and action.

Seems you have your little USA clique here and I'm not welcome... Oh well so be it, good luck to you sir.

Dankejewel.

I wake up and see the sunshine, go for a walk the locals all smile and say "Sawadee khrap/kaa."

I like to learn what is new in Thailand and Udon but when I click, view posts since last visit it is mostly US politics.
In a nutshell, Buffalo Soldier. In a nutshell. Well said. ;) :D

I am Canadian, not a citizen of the United States, and remember well when we, or should I say the British, defended Canada from the Americans in the War of 1812. They may have burnt Toronto (York) three times, but the British retaliated and saved our face by burning the White House.

I got irritated by the U.S. political stuff too, which sort of reminded me of the publicity surrounding the match between Brechin City and Dundee United a few years back. It did not generate too much excitement for most followers of British football, but was important enough to those of the participants, in particular, Brechin City.

Fortunately, I have not seen much of the United States political threads for awhile.

However, I would be happy to be a member of a United States clique, a British clique, an Anzac clique, a Thai clique, a Lao clique, and so on. There is an affinity within me with all of these groups.

I am a non-US member of this forum who takes exception that you should speak for me (I have my own voice and opinions). As I said the other week, the Americans hurt no one by discussing their politics here. In fact we voted to let them carry on with some amendments to the forum, so there the issue should end. Furthermore, Tilo has a point in that this forum should be available to everyone with differing views and interests. The uniting thread is Udon.

I sense some self pity in the piece that I've quoted from you above in that you feel you're not welcome. I think you're mistaken, people will engage with you if you post on this site. But remember there's nothing worse than a grown man wallowing in self pity. People here will see you more as a petulant child rather than a chap who can give a reasoned argument.

good morning every body it now Monday morning and I feel good I don't have wife problems
I could use a little more money in my pension but I think most of us feel that way
as for U S Politics we lost that thread is going in the sewer thanks to a few complainers
To my Canadian friends if the U S was to have taken over Canada in 1812 you all would be able to fish & hunt with M16 or AK47 or even hand gun like Glock 9MM like we do in the States
I did my rant & range last night with a couple of moderators but I lost like a good sport that I am I will lick my wounds and smile and say I gave them a good fight but you can't win when it 3 or 4 against one but I am a scrapper I loved the odds    so now it time to move on and make my post in farting and the best hamburger in udon thani I will leave the sports for you all since it bores me. I also want to say to B.M please don't take my post personal I want you to know I consider you a friend and looking forward to day we can meet at the N/M get together
and that also go for any one whom I may have pissed off in my posting

Hello and welcome I am from where, oh yes this world, with all its imperfections, I have no real problems except the children of this world who worry about where they come from, what is being said by whom, and what they are talking about.
I do not give a tinkers cuss for 1812 ( good piece of music that by the way), or the antecedents of any particular country or race.
What makes me MAD is the fact that so called adults can lapse into childish tit for tat, when this post was specifically set up for rants and rages.
Ok now I have said it, I feel better, thankyou. be happy and take care y'all.

Nothing today but for the last 9 years....

Anyone mention dogs? My biggest pet hate, one starts howling and they all set off, drives me up the wall, I have a dog and I like dogs but I don't like dogs roaming the streets in packs. About 3 times a day minimum, loose dogs wander down our street and that sets off all the dogs in our street, that triggers the next street and on it goes.

Roundabouts, i'm trying to figure out if the rules are actually the reverse in Thailand or if people really have no clue.

40kph in the fast lane is another one, again i'm not sure if these extra lanes are meant to be fast lanes or not.

Smoking rules in outdoor seating areas!!! I guess only smokers feel that pain.

Heres a good one, Tesco and buying beer, if you try and buy one box of beer off the shelf actually in the tesco aisle not the drinks section. You can't!! you have to buy 2 and if you buy one box in the drinks section you have to add two more bottles!!?

Electric, constant current changes, lights getting brighter and darker like the house is on self destruct sequence, my UPS constantly beeping from my computer, muliple power cuts that means no water as the pump stops.

Food that smells seriously bad, i'm not too serious on this one but some of the Issan food stenches are really above and beyond like the matter that smells like a rotting rodent, gets me everytime, I start looking around trying to trace the origin of the smell, the other one is the sewage smell, same again I start thinking the septic tank is full and one last one intense amonia smell like baby nappies Wow! Like I say i'm not too serious on this subject but it amazes me how people can get past the smell to actually eat.

People shrieking out Hello when you bombing along on the bike, gets me every time, I love it of course because it's friendly and adds to fun of being a farang here but, it's dangerous as I always turn to look thinking it's a friend and nearly crash.

The Gas bottle delivery guy that when his pickup broke down he used full gas bottles as warning bollards around the vehicle as it was getting dark, heh! No, wait thats under the things I love about living here lol

Rubbish everywhere oh and this fantastically ugly silver building that has just been erected on the banks of this lovely lake near to where I live, crying shame that one, never mind i'm sure the owner thinks it looks splendid.

Bull ---- excuses from TOT when you ADSL goes tits up.

Fat Thai kids, I mean huge fat Thai kids, I don't hate em really I just feel sad for them.

Myself for not learning the flippin language properly and then getting in a complete rage when I don't know whats going on or get in communication mix ups.

I have got about 9 years worth so ill call it a halt but thanks for the opp to get some of them off my chest. I don't normally moan, I hate moaners and negative thinkers on the whole but it is fun to share some common gripes once in a while. I love Thailand and especially Udon Thani, my likes list masively exceeds my dislikes list.

My main overall gripe with this country is the politics, it makes me sick to my stomache the way politcians here get away with absolute murder in broad daylight and display a veiled menace that makes people even wary of challenging them in anyway but the general population are great people, I hope I can live here forever.

Just off the topic of hamburgers and 20y.o. for a minute . Was leaving the under ground parking lot of big c with the m.c. the other day and noticed a farang yakking on his phone in his STOPPED car. Which in my estimation who make me IN FRONT OF YOU. By the time I got to the first right turn ,he, in his car very close beside me, I , in vain laid on the horn, but if you can believe it, I was just going to the bike shop to purchase a new battery ,as all I got was a nnnnggggkkk from the horn. So if you are familiar with the exit procedure, your next right brings you alongside the wall heading towards the exit booth.
Well once wasn't enough, and this gentleman was so close to me that I slapped the top of his fender , and gentlemen ,after 40 years of riding a bike, if I can slap the top of your fender ,you are to close to me. So I had about 6 inches till i hit the wall ,or about a foot before he collided with me. He FREAKED, window down, screaming I kicked his car,"no sir" i said "I slapped your car". He immediately pulled over and jumped from his car and ran around to see the NOT damage. This fellow ,with rage in his eyes , completely loseing the plot, was in no mood for calmly discussing the situation. And I , not wanting to roll around on the asphalt with a lunatic, left the scene.
By the time he dropped off his parking ticket I had made myself dissapear. Now this will probably envoke some discussion.Perhaps not.Even at my age and health (open heart 6 weeks ago )I cannot ,let some things pass, being forced into a concrete wall at 15 kms an hour is one of them.
Yes I could of backed off a little and let the big guy, in the big shiney car, go first . But that particular day ,I had banged the dog and kicked the wife and was a little crankey . Thank you for letting me vent. On a lighter note did you read about the guy who severed the guys head off , on a packed greyhound bus,in rural canada. wonder who said what to who.

for what it worth if I was the one driving the car and a biker slap my car because I in danger him
I would politely apologize because driving the car you should look out for the M/B since they
do swing in & out of your path. now if I am on the M/B I already posted my response LOL

yes indeed, especially since i am back on 2 wheels again, so watch out. when riding alone, i do cut things slim, but you should never have to move or touch your brakes, though you may not have as much faith in my driving as me.

  8)

Intersting responses. Some, would turn the other cheek ,so to speak, others would get into the confrontation.Just another insight into human behaviour. And like the guy said " the more I learn about people, the more I love my dog " Thanks
