Maybe your 'insider knowledge' is greater than mine Tam but cannot remember a slimy bugger ever telling hospitals etc how to play the isolation game.
Jeez, even Joe Public was allowed out to shop and exercise/buy booze etc albeit for limited periods each day.
The slimy bugger in question was the one that ordered the transfer of the elderly into facilities that ultimately exposed them to a higher risk of contracting Covid, after which many were infected, succumbed and died. The health professionals that you claim were making their own decisions about isolation in hospitals didn't say no. With very few exceptions, they did as they were told, like most all the sheeple did.
And there was me thinking it was that denizen of Socialism, Sturgeon who did that.
Medics decided what isolation policies were carried out in hospitals with some having marked different requirements even within the same Heath Trust areas. They did the risk analysis based on staff safety and type of patient care requirements. Politico's dont have the brains to dictate to experts, they take advice from experts.

There's a YouTube from @ledbydonkeys that covers the then UK government's stellar performance on "taking advice from experts" when Covid kicked off. I was unaware that Boris missed the first five emergency COBRA meetings on Covid but his cohorts muddled through and thousands died unnecessarily.

Apart from Sweden who else in the Western World did anything more/less than what the UK did. Some were quicker to implement, some were slower. A PM attending a COBRA meeting or not does not mean he is not briefed by his minions who do attend. Just what do you think Boris could have contributed in an emergency medical meeting.
What was Starlins contribution as an effective opposition leader, keep everything shut down longer, maybe because his biggest supporting unions members were all sitting at home doing nought except pick up full salaries. Yes/No

Some were quicker and some, like the UK, were slower and accordingly suffered worse. Good to see you admit that Boris was piss useless as a leader though. Totally superfluous and while he was away arranging his divorce, he let his sock puppets run the show in absentia, IGNORING THE PROFESSIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC ADVICE. So we agree on something then: a true Kodak moment.
Stop deflecting with this "but Labour" tripe, you know it's not good for you and we all know you're pretty rubbish at it anyways. BTW, they weren't in charge so your hypotheticals are quite meaningless.

Your assertions that Boris was sorting out his divorce is backed up by what evidence?
How many COBRA meetings were held while Boris was in hospital with Covid, did the G not tell you that?
Will not be the last word, you dont do that.
Told you not ever a Tory but can never believe the Liebour Party again.
Perhaps a political agnostic is a better description.

Have any of these latest variants reported in North America and Europe been seen in Thailand yet? If not, it's assumed that "high season" visitors may bring it here?
In my line of work, where contractors are shuttling thousands of workers to and from all corners of the globe every six weeks, the mandatory 2 shots + 1 booster rule from 2022 still applies. Not sure how many crew members have added to that basic tally, be it through localized outbreaks or their home country's recommendations. I'll ask the medic on my next trip as we all have to file updated health, medical and immunization info as part of the signing-on.

I'm visiting the States now in North Carolina. It is here and infecting people. Right now, my grandson and granddaughter have it. Attended a reunion and a fellow from Washington state couldn't come since his elderly mother had COVID. Another old comrade in Florida couldn't come because he had it.. Just waiting now to see if the grandson (isolated in his bedroom) has infected the wife and me.... Arghghgh!

Stay safe over there. The "game over" Thai virologist quoted in the BP is saying the existing strains are all Omicron variants. These KP, XEC and FLiRT variants mentioned in the yahoo/health link appear to be unknown or so far unidentified over here?
