Fawn, the reason why the aircraft do not fly for long in Garuda livery is because they were used for Hadj flights so only short lease.

Bandung Aero, Have looked at those sites, agree they need updated badly !! Believe Orient Thai still fly charters to Hong Kong and Seoul, plus ad hoc stuff.

Looks like the aircraft I saw at DMK were being used as a christmas tree and there is no intention of getting them ready to fly.

Incidentally also there were two phuket Air B747s one in full Saudia livery but wuth HS markings, these again used for Hadj flights !!

I never said it flew in Garuda livery - I am aware of aircraft leasing.

agreed, my mistake, just pointing out the reason why it flew for Garuda.

The B747 is still at Udon Today, I can see it from where I am.

No mate, not your mistake - mine for being so abrupt. I posted my reply and then went upstairs to bed thinking, 'why did I say that?' :-k

Sorry old chap, my reply was uncalled for, I shall read twice before posting next time.

I believe that plane was called "Taking care of business" a Convaire 880 or 990.

747 fuselage would make a great bar/restaurant ...... I don't think I'm a "qualified aircraft tower" but would be capable of engineering such a project. :D

In the picture the fan cowl latches obviously were not properly secured, although engine performance won't be affected., fuel burn will be increased, so good idea to return to airplane patch for repairs. :D :D

That's right, Jetdoc used the wrong settings on his torque wrench. :yikes:

Looks great inside, 82 customers as well. Not sure if I'd like a room where the engine bays were, though.

Looks like the fan cowl latches covering the engine dropped off and the plan had to divert for repairs.
Everton,well......at least they are doing well in Europe, nuff said.
But talking of engines falling off.....have you seen the state of your Fantasy Football team ? That team needs a lot of urgent maintenance !
We were in BBB's last week so sorry to have missed you.Mind you, with Burnley beating both United and Everton it might be better to go for a beer at New York Bistro for a while ! :D
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

1st of all the loading went quiet smoothly at Changi, but sill had a few trying to jump the queue, which was done by row numbers,The seating is only Ordinary in Cattle Class, quite firm seats infact, anyway onto taxiway and about 15 mins to far end of runway as you would expect,Captain putting engines into full throttle now ( NOT as noisy or as much shaking as 747 )Released brakes & Rolling Quiet was my impression,& Take Off,in the air and up to cruising altitude 40,000 feet most of the way,a little turbulence over Bay of Bengal & India for a short time, but after the first couple of hours NO ploblems....Very Smooth inflight,AVOD Had to be rebooted but once fixed was very good, watched a couple of movies one of which was called The Boat that rocked, all about the Pirate Radio stations in the 60s & 70s...Highly Recommended...The Food was quite Plain Just Typical Airline Cr*p,Then it was a Kip( A Nap in other words ) & Woke up somewhere over Germany and got a wash & Shave before a VERY Smooth Landing into London Heathrow,Deplaneing took all of about 10 mins...Quite satisfied with the flight & service on board.......

Was he on there too....half of udon map members where on that flight by the sounds of it.

Speaking of ideas for that 747 dumped in Udon......there is a real nice hotel made from a old 727 plane in Costa Rica.

check out the link for photos, a novelty Hotel could be a winner for Udon.....definitely work well on Samui or Phuket.
