Farang on Farang Scam
Re: Farang on Farang Scam
Easterneye,
People like this don't do immigration, visa or even passports, they bum around until the day they get caught and deported or drop dead, more often the later. I KNOW - it sounds like I'm talking from experience.

"People like this don't do immigration"
I agree. Been here nearly 14 years. If not for obtaining a driver's license, and periodically leaving the country, I've never had my passport checked for a visa. I keep a worn photo-copy of my passport picture page in my wallet. When banks etc ask for my passport, I've used the photo-copy without a problem. Been stopped by cops a few handful of times for traffic checks......I give them my Thai license, that's all they've asked for.
After all, this isn't Arizona!!

Re: Farang on Farang Scam
I came out of Tesco yesterday and was confronted by three young boys, the eldest around 14, demanding to know my nationality, after showing my passport and proving I am British they told me to move on. Later on that day I got a call from a friend I had been talking to in Tesco (Adolph) who said he had the ---- kicked out of him by 3 young boys in the car park
Tesco shoppers beware.....

He wern't the only one according to James, my youngest. One German offered them money to leave him alone, so the second youngest took it. I think he spent the money down the off licence looking at the state he came back in.rayudon wrote: Later on that day I got a call from a friend I had been talking to in Tesco (Adolph) who said he had the ---- kicked out of him by 3 young boys in the car park

keep the bloody foreigners out .
Re: Farang on Farang Scam
Talking to someone from UD it appears they had just lost a lot of money betting on Germany to win . So were intent on going round taking it out on anyone/ anything German .So maybe we should watch out when England play again , in case anyone is daft enough to bet on them .fallenlocks wrote:He wern't the only one according to James, my youngest. Re: Farang on Farang Scam
Judging by the replies, this Foreigner is either German or Norweigan, lost up to 4 wallets, Motorbike is C***, ,lost almost anything of value, may or may not have a wife (Thai). In fact to be honest he has not got much going for him as he. probably an overstayer, no visa, if fact the only reason we talk about him is he is ALIVE for the time being.
I will offer him a ride to a very desolate part of Thailand by way of helping him. Kindest thing one can do really.

Re: Farang on Farang Scam
Back to the original topic about the German farang trying to scrounge money .I came across this guy over a month ago in the UD Tescos. He sat alongside me and gave me all the spiel about losing wallet and looking for a Christian charity to give him a bed .As he was sitting alongside me I didn't get much of a chance to see his face full on, but I did look down and noticed his holey shoes . Now yesterday sitting in the food court of Central I observed this individual behaving strangely and approaching some tables. I asked the cleaning lady who said he is in there every day trying to get the food coupons left unused by diners, which he then cashes in . Then today he approached me and the first thing I noticed was the shoes, so I realised this is the same guy who told me he has lost his wallet .He saw my unused food tokens on the table and asked if he could have them, but before he could go into detail, I asked if he had got his wallet back that he left on the bus .He immediately left in a hurry . So it is the same guy, now operating in Central. Security are aware of him but are unable to take action as he is not breaking any rules .description . Grey hair, mostly bald. Wears a man style sling bag over his shoulder. Cleanly dressed but the shoes are the big give away. European style soft slip ones, grey/greenish in colour with huge holes on top . About 60ish .The staff reckon he is Ting Tong but his talk and demeanour seem quite normal to me .

Hope someone soon will be kind enough to take a photo of the gentleman since we now know where he regularly likes to go

Begging and soliciting might require a work permit to be legal!trubrit wrote:Back to the original topic about the German farang trying to scrounge money .I came across this guy over a month ago in the UD Tescos. I saw this guy but made no contact
Re: Farang on Farang Scam
Maybe someone who speaks thai could have a word with immigration.

And say what ?JR wrote:Maybe someone who speaks thai could have a word with immigration.
I can imagine going to immigration, getting my queue number, waiting for my turn, then sitting down in front of the immigration officer and saying, in thai language, "There's a falang in tesco's car park and the compex asking other falangs for money".
I can then imagine the expression on the officers face and roughly what he'd be thinking.
Good Idea JR.
OT.............

Well, I shall refrain from commenting your post as you obviously and, as usual, just do not get it.old-timer wrote:And say what ?JR wrote:Maybe someone who speaks thai could have a word with immigration.

Re: Farang on Farang Scam
About 2 months ago, this vey man approached me on the Carrefour car park, and gave me the same speel about losing his wallet at Nong Bua Lam Phu bus station and how he had tried St.Mary's Church to no avail, and could I help him.The guy was so matter of fact, with no sign of panic, the alarm bells rang straight away.I told him I was skint and no I could not help him.I watched him from my car,for a few minutes, and thought it even stranger, when he ignored two farang men who were walking together. No sign of desperation there! And it was clear his targets were farangs alone. When he spotted me watching him,he quickly walked away.
This guy is obviously a slick and experienced con man.Too slick in fact.So if he approaches you, tell him to sod off,or something similar.Scumbag!!!
