I recall reading in the press a while ago ref a new immo database being formed that did require hotels etc to register tourists and expat residents that stay there by checking a passport and valid visa , added to this the immo guys are incorporating a "bad boy" database and photo gallery so any one with previous problems ie; warrants or the like will be pulled when they go to renew or report for a visa , this will run in Pattaya and Phuket at first , i think its more for serious offenders not if you have an overdue library book in Scuntorpe from 1981 !!!!! .
My point being i could see some expats spreading out throughout Thailand as apposed to living in fun city and Udonthani may be a popular spot for some - time will tell - if so hope they like Branston and the like !!
