Absolutely right GT. A very worthwhile endeavor. Can I suggest that we start a separate thread on this as I would like to get more info.

As for Soldier I am picking him up tomorrow If he is strong enough. Wish me luck.

Nick

Proud of you all for helping this poor dog, I hope atleast he has some comfort after the ops

I will never forget I think the 2nd time I came to Thailand I was in Pattaya about year 2000, I was sitting on a plastic seat near a market and this guy jumped into his pick up to drive away, there was a poor dog sleeping under the truck, he drove off and over the back of the dog, it came out yelping like crazy and the whole back end legs the lots crushed it was dragging itself towards a small soi, I was near in tears, I ran inot the local Pharmacy and I knew little if no thai back then, trying to get them to get a Vet or something over to help, not one person cared, I could hear it when I came out the shop I was so much in shock did not know what to do..i had to leave the area it was to much for me..RIP doggy.. :-(

Nick, I would like when possible to measure SOLDIER for his Cart. I have searched the Net but found through the thread of Glalt a Cart that is suitable for a dog with no back legs. I would appreciate it if you can PM me to let me know when this be possible.DU

As soldier is close to coming to his new home, I would like to ask for some help.

He really loves his cage at the vets. Whenever the vet has to clean him or change his dressings, they take him out, and he always tries to crawl back in. I reckon that this must be his comfort zone - his 'home' in a way.

I would like to make him a kennel at home, as I think he will like the security of his own little place (like his cage at the vets).

Does anyone know where I can find a medium sized kennel? Preferably one close to ground level, so he can drag himself in and out of it. I might try and make one out of wood.

Thanks guys.

Give me a call if you still need the dog house. I have one you can have, it's made of steel and just needs a little adjustment on the front entry for soldier. 0808031955

Great Temperament, Very sad Dog, his life is about to change after such a terrible ordeal he has just been through. Tomorrow I will go to the Vets to fit him to his Cart, hope to have it completed very soon.
Soldier will then be a happier Dog being able to move around.

Thanks for the call Nick, the shelter is all yours. It is to small for my 2 Labradors now. Jesus they are getting big quickly. But perfect for one dog.
Sorry I can't deliver as my twin cab pickup with the cover can't handle it.
Hope you can get a mate to help with a normal pickup.
Just call me when you are coming and I will meet you and the pickup and guide you to my property out the back of Nong Samrong lake and we can and load her up.

Soldier's operations went well and he has healed nicely. Tomorrow is the big day - I will be bringing him home.

Thanks Barney for the dog cage - I'm sure he will love it.

I will post pictures of soldier in his new home.
